try aiming for the side of the thigh if you hit hard you will make it so they cant walk plus you need to hit really hard to cause any major pain to the knee cap it's a pretty tough joint.

i feel very sorry for the people who dont keep there hands up in sparing, particularly the people who cant even punch to the head. -

i trained knife for a bit but as the Anonymousone said i would rather work on empty hand.

take the kickboxing place and still train with the people from the old dojo -
Shaolin Gung-fu is very effective, twice Shaolin monks have won national San Shao compitioins in china and some have defeated Thaiboxers under thai rules. (although rarely) i believe that in order to master the martial arts you must master yourself and in my experience the best way to do this is threw Buddhism, although there are other ways in regaurds to your post that it is not practicle the forms are not how they fight in fact how thay fight resembles Muay Thai in many respects.

good post i would agree with that however if it is not and attentiaon and he just doent like you i would tell him nicely to back off if he can drive a car and has a job hes ahead of alot of people i know and should be treated just like anyone else. if someone ever makes a point of telling you they have a problem they ussualy want you to feel sorry for them. -
in my experience the non athletic people never train as hard and dont do well in compitition, i believe that to be a good martial artist you have to push yourself and the non athletic types dont do that and usually quit early cause they cant handle the workouts.

Ouch... i just saw the Yuki Kondo, Tito Ortiz fight and i was wondering about a flying knee? i have used it with some success in the ring and i think a guy flailing madly would be wide opean for it. not my first choice but would any one consider using this. -
the grandmaster of my TKD style killed a man with the Kwan su (spear hand) in korea he hit him in the solar plexus and the guy droped.

i would say take up thai boxing over boxing as thaiboxing is a little more hard core in the fighting aspect, but i do love both of the styles and boxing will get you much better hands.
