i think that boxing has the quickest hand strikes.

i dont like the deadly techniques because i can find very very few instances where they would be nessicary. plus every technique can be deadly if done with enough training so why train in techniques that are only deadly.

dojo politics effect every art at one TKD tounament i did a clean spin hook kick and knocked a guy out and the students instructer made a big deal on how the KO shouldent count and because his school was hosting the tournament i had to spar the same guy in a rematch (i won by points) but still it really ticked me off.

Muaythaiboxer replied to Ben Martin's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
i work harder at martial arts than anyone i know and at times i wonder if it is worth it and every time i reflect i se that yes im twice the fighter and twice the person i used to be, everyone hits a wall now and then but after a while you get past it and get better. -
why not say something to them? if you dont want to start conflict then dont be rude just ask nicely for them to stop.

Muaythaiboxer replied to Mu Ryuk's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
wrestling is one of the best ways to get good at MA theres no good substitute for wrestling. -
i took aikido for a short while and the aikido teacher spent over a year fighting an assult and battery charge(he won). my former aikido teacher was walking home from work and he has to walk past a bar two men that where just thrown out decided to beat someone up, my teacher was struck in the face then he threw one guy into the other, one of the guys got up and my teacher kicked him in the chest breaking his coller bone, my teacher called the cops and was arrested!!! luckily he got off

Muaythaiboxer replied to Taku-Shimazu's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
i seriously think that some of the stuff i just hurd is bull 20 on 1 no way, i dont know what your instructers did but there is no way you get in 20 on 1 fights and be a stand up guy. so tell me how did this happen -
i see alot of things in here that really tick me off. if someone threatens you just walk away why would you go after them? if they come after you then you use the menimum to stop it. i just cant believe how many really dumb things i here on some of these threads.

Lee could have been beaten by people in his own time (Mas Oyama, Jimmy Woo, Howard Jackson) so why are we arguing over if he would win now theres no way

UFC and Bruce Lee
Muaythaiboxer replied to Little Dragon's topic in Pro Fighting Matches and Leagues
bruce would get owned by most of todays MMA guys semply because he dident have the grapling skills that you need today. in all respect to bruce i doubt he could out strike many of them either i mean the guy had no ring fights under his belt and he dident train for MMA i personally think he would have gotten owned by people in his time (mas oyama, Ed parker, ect) not to mention numerous wrestlers, boxers and thai boxers. -

Is Chivalry Really Dead?
Muaythaiboxer replied to SBN Doug's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
i try to go out on a limb to help people i give to charity i try to hold the door for people (more so for ladies) and i try to be nice to people (not saying i wont beat someone down in the ring) but when i do im always a good sport. so is chivalry dead? hell no -
i like my weak side in front because of the extra power you get from the extra momentum and a kick from the back leg is stronger than a kick from the the front. (not saying i wont switch sides to confuse people)

The Street Fighter Excuse
Muaythaiboxer replied to WapCaplet's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
i dident really like the article. basicly if your not training to learn how to fight why train in the martial arts? if you want a workout there are tons of arobic and yoga classes out there, just about any sport out there gives you disaplen so why train in the martial arts if you dont train to learn how to fight?
