  1. all the ones listed are pretty good, i would have to go with muay thai or bjj just cause i know a little about them and i know they work. over all i would say many kung fu styles have lost sight of reality (not includeing wing chun, san soo, baji quan,) boxing is great but if you get taken down its over.
  2. im not saying i would not take a life if there was no other way to protect inocent people im just saying it would haunt me for a long time. also im buddhist so i dont even kill bugs. oh chaz i just noticed you take san soo could you give me a little history behind your art?
  3. once again back to the age old argument "just because your a black belt does not mean you can fight"
  4. i like your boxing quote very much scottnshelly. to me if your not proven in real fights or have good ring experience your not that impressive.
  5. if you know martial arts and you hit someone with excessive force you are attomatily charged with assult with a deadly weapon. in kansas at lest.
  6. it was only limited release here in the US so i will have to wait for the dvd to come out
  7. in regaurds to the idea that fighting makes you a better MA it is a kind of double edge sword, on one hand you have applied the techniques you know and on the other you used your MA to beat some body up (does not apply if you where defending your self)
  8. when i got into my first fight i was really worried that my family would be sued because his dad was a lawyer and i really beat the crap out of the guy (i was provoked) but then it turned out the guys dad thought i was in the right and even called my family and appoligized of his son.
  9. i like capoeira, great fun but (where i train at lest) the capoeristas get destoryed by just about anyone in sparring. it's such a good work out though! i just cant bring myself to quit
  10. chill man learn to like the people you dislike i have never been picked on cause im an athlete but i hate it when people pick on other people. my only real experience haveing this is when this guy was being a bigot about religious things so i took it for about a week (this was pretty bad stuff he was saying) the next time he said something i told him to put his hands up (i was't going to sucker punch the guy) then i proceded to punch him grapple him to the floor and choke him. the stuff stoped that very day. (i later apoligised and even though we dont talk i dont hate him)
  11. a guy with a bat hmmm i would not try to be the agresser but to run away when it your job not to wow.
  12. i would probably agree but i have never met the guy. not all TKD schools give there belts away i trained for five years to get my first degree.
  13. Getting back to the original point of weapon only martial arts, lots have been mentioned, but you can also find western fencing, jugo de pao, palo canario, kyudo, tapado, garrote larense, and gatka. wow never hurd of half of these please enlighten me
  14. like that time the wing chun guy got pummeled into a bloody pulp, that was the most one sided match ive ever seen.
  15. i have never had the pleasure to learn any form of jiu jitsu and i was curious how was bjj created and how does i differ from japanese jiu jitsu
  16. what do you think is more important strength or stamina
  17. yea my judo teacher is a big guy not fat just big but he was a U.S. olyimpic team alternate
  18. mmmmmmmmmm rice, after saying that that was a very good post.
  19. very good post, relaxed but not relaxed to a point of lethargy.
  20. i have to say it but there are better styles than others. the average boxer will ko the average TKD guy with ease not because the boxer trains harder but that the style is more practicle. i know TKD guys who train very very hard and put up a good fight but the style is just less practicle.
  21. dident tyson donate like a million to charity even though he was in debt. i used to think tyson was a bad face for boxing to have but now...
  22. Heeeeeee's baaaaaaaaaack !!!!! LOL believe it or not nearly every thing gets better when your relaxed. speed, power, and theres less teligraph. comeing frome very stiff styles i was way to tense and after i took a little kung fu i started to relax and i got better.
  23. i joined because i needed something to do when wrestling season was out, strange now i like martial arts more than i like wrestling.
  24. im quite flexible, part of that being that im just naturally so but i also stretch alot thats the key nothing comes with out practice.
