Yeah man, u need to do a lot of hip rotations, like putting ur hands on your hips and making circles with them. Plus repeat the crescent kick movement without extending you leg, just spin your knee over. That's all i can think of. Angus

Wouldn't mind working some ground techniques hey ken? Angus

And if pain persists, see your doctor... hehe, Angus

Haha, Tim - look at you, you're fabio! Nah man, you're better than myself.... Angus

Thanx Tae, Just one problem with me though is i have respect in teh classroom and to people i meet, it's just that i'm arrogant and i know it. I should start my own art called egojutsu or something. I don't care, i'm young and stupid - but i guess i'l get the crap beaten outta me one day and i'l realise what the go is. All i can say is bring it on! NO PHEAR!!! Angus

I wouldn't accept it if someone said that i could just do this and skip ranks. Who needs a belt anyway? Have i told my story about the brown belt? No? Well, i'm quite tipsy at the moment so i think i will (i've been partying - hehehehe)... This guy at HapkIdo was getting real fresh with me in sparring cos he knew i'd done some nasty stuff before so he wanted to spar hard - i gave him HARD!! I kicked the guy around the room and i was only a white belt! Hahahaha, that'l teach 'em! Angus :spitlaugh:

Hey man, When i got one of my friends into HapKiDo he had the same problem only with the crescent kicks. He just had a weak muscle joining onto his hip or something (so the physiotherapist told him) and he was manipulated and clicked until eventually the problem went away. It didn't hurt him either but it made a loud clicking noise and it was a bit off-putting... Angus

Yeah man, that's called positive visualisation. I do it all the time and it makes me feel more safe. Angus

Aikido? Ju Jitsu? What do You Think?
Angus replied to Xy's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
As most of u know i have done a lot of arts, one of which was a short stint in BJJ. I learned the basic ground fighting techniques from BJJ such as lock and lapel grab and all that, but i combine that with beating the shit outta the guy with punches if he tries to take me down. I can do standup locks and wrestling but i find a dynamic approach (punches and kicks) as the best way of handling street thugs. Hooroo, Angus -
haHA! Ken got TOLD! PHEAR Tae! All i posted was a simple post on kobudo, and i ended up having a good laugh at some of the stuff posted. Respect 'this', i know more 'that'... blah blah blah. This stuff goes on too often. Angus

What's the point of starting a new MA if u'r just gonna skip ranks... See, that's why i don't like the belt system... Angus
-
Heh, yeah, good one Conan... True, sport is sport - but the sport TKD has damaged the reputation on the art. I personally would not take TKD as it doesn't offer what i'm looking for. If i had a son or daughter i'd probably put them into BJJ. Angus

I find nowadays that anything below my guard will be blocked with my leg (like the thai guys)... If they decide they wanna take me down then i'l give them a good old wrestle on the ground. It's just as easy to punch and kick when you're on teh ground as it is standing up. Angus
-
Yeah, but also the guy may not be so intimidated is he has a 6 inch flick blade in his hand... Still, he didn't manage to cut my throat like he said he would, he just ended up with very VERY sore testicles. Angus
-
I think i'l just rely on my natural inventiveness. Angus
-
ken, dude, leave your personal problems at home!
-
Okay, i'l get around to posting the bloody picture soon.... Angus
-
Hahahahaha!!! Where the hell did that come from Ken? Angus
-
Yeah kato, i've learned kinsetsu geri and i still find the Muay Thai roundhouse to be more effective. As ken said it can be relatively easily avoided. The instep to the groin is also a good kick! Angus
-
Heh, i don't run..... I find running tedious if i could just as easily beat the guy up... Maybe it's my background, but i'd rather fight than run.. Angus
-
Let us not forget the ancient art of intimidation... I have a friend who's built like Bruce Lee, all wiry and that, but i come across more intimidating because i'm bigger and stronger... Size DOES matter, because you have to deal with psychological factors as well as how good a fighter you are. Angus

Muay Thai roundhouse kick to the knee... It's quick, it's strong, and if he can't move then he can't fight. Angus

Yeah man, the martial arts will get u fit in no time! A couple of years ago i let my martial arts slip and i ate and ate and ate, i was soooo out of shape! I was about 115kg (240lb roughly) and i was only 16!! I started back up again under professional instruction and came down to 95kg. Now i'm doing Goju Ryu karate and i'm 85kg and almost in complete health again. I've never felt better man. The martial arts will help u to no limit! Angus
