  8. Since when did this become dungeons and dragons? Angus
  9. True true.... As a freestyle martial artist in my 'earlier' days i did not properly learn the respect that comes with being a 'proper' martial artist. I was arrogant and fought a lot - but i was not like the Cobra Kai, i was not a bully. I was just easily angered and quick to the fist. Violence IS and always should be a last resort - but unfortunately many fighters such as my self do not have the same sociological background as many of the true martial artists who never use their skills for the purposes of egotistical behaviour. Angus
  10. Heh, yeah... I don't give a hoot what belt i'm on except for the fact that a black belt certificate would look good in a resume when going for a security job. I sparred against one of the more experienced black belts last night and intimidated him out of attack... BAH! Angus
  11. TKD is good, but i would prefer to do and have done HapKiDo which is also a Korean art... It's just more street wise and realistic to me. Angus
  12. Ahh, such a pool of knowledge ken! Angus
  13. It basically comes down to the way you carry yourself and the way you use your features to intimidate doesn't it fellas!? Angus
  14. True about the kick to the thigh - but i love to block with my leg.. Angus
  15. I probably could if i really tried, but he is like twice as strong as me with a longer reach. Plus he's a naturally good fighter. Angus
  16. You could always check your footwork and use your feet to get outta the way instead of just twisting your torso.. Lighten up people, Angus
  17. That's it! I've been listening to this nutcase bull on and on... There's no way an instructor would ever go on like that! Who the hell are you man? Like a 10 year old who thinks he's Jackie fricken Chan? If you really are the real deal then i apologise but you have to do a bit of growing up i think.. 19. Very true, very very true... Angus
  20. Hells yeah! If you've read a few of my messages you'd probably pick up that i've been in a few street fights. I don't have just one style now but i've used my martial arts for sure - and it's saved my life. Read my VIOLENT CONFLICT thread. Angus
  21. I don't care if i get into trouble in sparring if a guy leaves his leg out i'm gonna grab it... That's just the most stupid thing you can ever do! Angus
  22. Yeah, a lot of people are afraid to go out and do stuff because they don't want to be seen as inferior to anyone or something. If i had thought that way a year ago then i'd still be a blob! Angus
  23. Ahh cool, now i understand. I just didn't know what was the go with doing it fast and hard and then slow and soft, and then soft and hard and fast and soft etc etc.. Angus
  24. So i was at Karate last night and some o might know that i study the GoJu or hard/soft system of karate. Last night we were doing these drills of like stances and punches and stuff and the sensei would make us do them in both dynamic tension (like sanchin kata) and like really soft (but not so soft that our form is bad). I was wondering if anyone could explain this form of teaching to me. Like does it teach you contro over you muscles or what? Angus
