  1. Just curious...comments made that we study kata because that is what the old master did. The comments were made that times changed, yes it did indeed. Year ago master (many of them) refined their techniques and skills in actual street combat. However, times change and conditions change. I am of the belief that old master would still do well today in combat. Yes, perhaps they would have to make adjustments but none-the-less IMHO the masters would be able to defeat most of the martial artists of today. I am just curious as to know if anyone else believes that old masters would still do well against most modern day masters who train non-traditionally (that is do not use kata)

  6. I think that Coke use to be green...or so I am told. I wonder if, from a age stadnpoint, your great grandfather worked there when it was produced in green. I also heard that it used another additive before caffine too. Not sure about that though. Coke used to have cocaine in it! That kind of facilitated its name. I know what you are saying, Patrick. There are many people who will drink Coke or Pepsi interchangably, however, I cannot do it. I think Coke is sweeter, and I don't really like the flavor of Pepsi, so I don't drink it. My family will drink anything that is carbonated. If I have a type of sode lying around, like Dr. Pepper, or Coke, or something, and they have Pepsi, I won't drink their Pepsi, even if I run out of soda. However, if they run out, they will drink anything of mine. It nerves me a little! Wow, although I will drink anything (and I am kinda liking Dr Pepper more that I use to) I find Pepsi sweeter. At least that is me. It is interesting that someone finds Coke sweeter.
  7. I suppose it is kinda like judging diving when a "fill in" judge only knows the basics of diving (jump off the board and go into the water). I imagine other sports with fill in judges experience this too.
  8. I agree with bushido_man96. You may be fighting a cold, infection or something else. Please see a doctor.

  11. In Isshin Ryu I know all the ones in that system although I should get some of my techniques corrected. In So Ryu I would still need to learn SoShin, Unshu and Ura kata for Usieshi & Kushanku. Still needing correction of some of the kata I am sure. In Shorin Ryu most of what I learned I forgot and perform similar kata (such as the Pian, Passai, Gojushiho and such) the way that another system teaches them. I found it too difficult to perform variations of the same kata in two systems.
  12. I voted 4 but...I probably should not count the last one...but I did

    eBay

I never tried it. I keep hearing about it and I just saw a class about selling on ebay...I may have a few things to sell there and it would be interesting to see what is out there to buy. Once I get my high speed at home I will be able to navigate through it faster.
  21. Wow, that's something that I have not done for a while...sorry to say. I better start making plans. Thanks for getting me thinking on the right path again
