I have always wondered if there are grounds in the coffee with the French Pressed method.

Just think of it as being "lower maintenence!" Getting to the point of no maintenance too It seems kind of funny....there are those with hair, who shave it, and those without, who want it. Ahhhh, to have enough hair to ever consider shaving it must be wonderful!

It says that I am the Hulk. I would have thought that I'd be Thor (God of Thunder)

The belt, no natter the color, is a piece of material tied to someone's waist. On the one end you have a junior black belt under the age of 10 and other the other side you have instructors, masters if you will, at or better than 8th dan. Although when I started there were no black belts awarded to someone under 16 (I think it was...or was it 18...mmmm...can't remember anymore) as long as the junior belt re-tests at the traditional age I don't see the big deal anymore. Oh, what might be nice is that before that time a junior BB wears a black belt that signifies junior level (perhaps a black belt with a white stripe down the center). Just my thoughts...If I were in charge of a karate organization.

thinning. Not much I can do with it now adays.

Impossible for me...although I maybe out-posting him on a given month might be something that I would attempt. I just checked his numbers for January. My wife has been out of town for the last week and I am still no where near him. My wife would have to be gone a lot more and I would need to be able to type a lot faster (along with getting my DSL speed a lot higher Congratulations on your upcoming 5000

I'll give it a try. Thanks

Although I don't think it would be a problem as others have said but since you are questioning I think that Krunchyfrogg's answer would benefit you a great deal. -
Martial Arts Seminars--Worth The Time/Money?
patusai replied to Sohan's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I stopped going to seminars years ago. Althought there is always benefit I did not think that it was worth the money considering. If the seminar is history related or lecture related that might be one thing. Perhaps the problem was that I never found the right seminar to go to. I think it would be different if the seminar was more one on one and not like a 100 level college course where there are 300 people in a lecture hall. -
Ofcourse, i was just interested to what benifits YOU find personally? Exercise, moving meditation, stress relief to start with. I do kata three ways. Highest speed I can possibly do and still maintain reasonable and acceptable (acceptable to me at least) form, at the speed I was taught to do it, and slowly with dynamic tension throughout. As as old man I find that this works well for me. A younger man would need much much more perhaps but for an older man with the physical limitations that snuck up on me I find comfort in kata. It probbly also is in my head too. I had kata drilled into me. I believe the practice of kata held off the stroke or heart attack that will someday find me. Sometimes life is stressful in many ways and for meany reasons. I hear that that the stress that results does not sit well with those who have heart attack and stroke in their family history.

All things considered I enjoy Stewarts (Original Belnd or Columbian). I think that it is good, robust and costs less than Starbucks, Seattle's Best and the other premium blends. I am going to giva a try to Folgers Gormet though. Want to see what it is like. It may lost less than Stewarts yet retain the taste that I like

Thanks Sohan! I love coffee. Finally got a coffee maker re-instated at work so I am...well...happier.

I always drink a lot of coffee. The first thing I do when I get to work is make coffee and drink it. I usually supplement it was chocolate cookies, Hostess Cup Cakes or Susie Q's but I will also substitute yogurt or fruit. I am toying with the idea of doing Seattle Sutton Healthy Eating this year so my options will change...except for the coffee

Try to relax. You'll do just fine. Good luck -
We never had junior black belts. That was long ago. Personally, I am open to new ideas and ways of thinking about such things.

What sort of benifits would you expect to recieve from perfecting them?? I suppose that those who believe in kata will find benefit in perfecting kata while those that do not believe in the usefullness of kata would find none no matter what the answer is. I am not trying to convince anyone to do it my way. It is, just that, my way.

I really can't add anthing more that what was already posted. I would like to throw my 2 cents in though. You can't perfect them unless you practice, practice, practice them.
