  1. Dell at work and an emaching at home
  2. Being as big and strong as he is...he probally wouldn't need too much help from MA! I hear he moonlights as a cop...that'd be one scary speeding ticket. Then again with the number of fights in the NBA a little training would help no? The NBA is kinda like looking more like the old Hockey days
  3. Beer? I'll take one two...too
  4. Any examples? I'd go for the legs probably. Exactly how, I never gave it much thought
  5. I saw Shaquile O'Neil throw punches during a fight a few years ago. It must have been before he started training. Although the punches were not what I would call a punch with his size it would still probably hurt if he did connect
  6. So they have been around a while then Ooops I meant 1979 or 80....I'm not that old...of course....
  7. I like weapons training. Howver, I have not trained in anything but the basic 4 (sai, bo, nunchacku and Tonfa). If I had it to do over again I think I would have found time to learn others in addition to the ones I had the opportunity to you.
  8. All I know is that in the old west gunfighting days most gunfights were not "even" as they show on TV. Some had cocked guns hidden under ponchos and other trickery to gain an advantage. I agree with Cross when he suggested attach if you feel you need to get out of there. A face shot is probably not the best Idea, as Cross suggested. I think that I would try to do something that would limit the other guys mobility...but then that is just me.
  9. We trained primarily in bear feet although we did also train in shoes. We followed, for the most part, tradition.
  10. Happy birthday
  11. Beach Boys when they played at the University of Illinois and I think that it was something like 1079 or 80.
  12. Welcome
  13. Scotch! Oh yes, it indeed does do wonders...in moderation of course.
  14. I am sure that Mr Cruise would eventually learn all of the deepest secrets of whatever martial art he studied
  15. Well, my sensei's dojo doesn't look overly flashy like a McDojo, and the website seems humble and modest and equally non-flashy. I do have to pay two-hundred dollars per semester if I take it in school, but I think taking martial arts is generally expensive. Sometimes I feel that I am not ready, but I still pass. It is karate and not brain surgery. Usually an instructor will not allow a student to test (unless the student insists possibly) unless the instructor feels that the student is ready. Most students do not feel ready because many have a preconcieved notion of karate and rank. They watch too much TV. Money is sometimes necessary for rents (even holding class at a VFW hall may cost some money) and insurance is never cheap. I believe that most teachers are not pulling in a great deal of money even if they are teaching full time. Maybe the best thing to do is look around. Go to other schools and watch. This way you can perhaps better see for yourself. Goo luck in your search.
  16. I am deeper into Star Trek than Start Wars however I do appreciate the whole thing.
  17. Patrick, That's really good.
  18. I'd see a doctor. Damage to legs of intense things such as this can cause blood clots possibly. Usually there would be some sort of mark in such cases. If it hurts a lot go to the doctor. Gool luck
  19. This is really great. I saved the link. There is so much to review. Thanks
  20. Thanks, that's nice.
  21. I didn't know that!...that is about Al Bundy. Sometimes, when I watch Married with Children I see...my life...Oh...Noo... Too funny! Sometimes when I look back it is funny...sometimes, well...it's pretty sad...but sometimes life happens
  22. Far more people think that they have the "killer" instinct that I am speaking of then actualy do. No, I am not interested in defeatng people. Karate is more than that. I am not a street fighter.
