i just picked u this magazine at barnes and nobles. it cost me $10 and i though it looks intresting. it looks more like a book rather but is a magazine. it has a lot of information on the ab, including exercises, explains fake myths, and other things, very eductaional. i reccomend it to anyone intrested in ab work. anyone else check it out?

i have stubled across in the website myspace, a petition agaisnt bonzaikittens. bonzai kitten is an extremely disgusting method of treating a kitten. if you want to learn more go to thier website. http://www.bonsaikitten.com/bkintro.html i signed the petition, and would hope that you all are agasint this. its a true criminal act. hopefully, it will close down, by i doubt on its own. anyways, any opnion, discussions on this horrible matter?

I agree. You can work abs every day and still be OK. I also agree that you should pair up your lifts and give yourself a day inbetween lifts to rest and allow muscle repair. For example, still take the protein that you usually do, even on the rest days, but pair up the lifts, like chest with biceps, shoulders and back, then legs, etc., but your muscles need a break to repair themselves. Also, by giving yourself a rest inbetween lifts, your body will be able to store more glycogen in the muscles to give you more energy for your next lift. I, too, am not an expert, this is just my opinion. Also, lifting heavy doesn't always mean bulk: by decreasing your body fat, the muscles will be easier to see, creating that "cut" look. Lifting lighter weights with higher repitition creates more muscle endurance than strength, though. waht do you mean lifting less weight at more repetitions? they will make your muscles show more?

Most influential martial artists
Maddwraph replied to Zauriel's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
how about the gracies? as someone on thos forum once said (cant remember who, sorry) they did revolutionize martial arts, because people realized the importance of ground fighting when royce won those matches. -
i say running, but the other ones are good to. running is healthy for the body in general, and when you start to see your becoming healthier, its also good for the mind. they go together quite nice.

yeah, i waspertty sure it was because of that, it kind of scared me for a second. oh, congratulations by the way Menjo, you seem to have moved up in rank.

im doing the crunches with the feet on the ground now since i feel the burn more. but today, i woke up and my upper back is killing me, like right below the neck, i have been doing these things everyday now. any advice about it?
-
also, i dont think this was mentioned, but never try something agaisnt a fighter that your not to sure on. like if you learned a throw in your art, make sure you can do taht move perfectly against a aggrressive opponent before ever trying it on the street. ive heard about people beggning karate getting beat up because they though the little two months they took could help them.

ways to beat someone bigger

im doing gi, and for the most part, they overpower me and take me down, ususally the mount gives me trouble, not any other i can think of. im not sure what the butterfly technique is. also, when your in mount position, im confused on how to attack. i havent gotten too many chances at it, but i guess arm bars are fun since they seem to block my chokes. -

are these types of schools rare in the U.S. > in places like new york? it sounds intresting. wont these things in the long run have a negative effect on your body?
-
should i do the second one then, since i feel the burn more with them? or should i set a ab workout, like 3 sets of the crunches with feet on the ground, 3 sets of the feet in the air?
-
ive been doing the crunches where you keep your legs up in the air and bring your head towards your knees, but lately i started the crunches where your feet are on the ground in sit up position, and you go halfway to your knees. i have found the second one to make me feel the burn more for some reason. maybe im not used to it? any suggestions? and whcih one do you personally prefer? thanks

at my gym, where im taking BJJ, they are offering an hour and a half class of Muay Thai each saturday in the morning for $20. im going tomorow, which is the first day. is one class per week of Muay Thai worth it? i took the workshop, and its a very fun. it seems very ideal for self defense. anyways, hope i enjoy it, its once class per week.
