turns out it was $80 to get in. its $65, but only if you pre-register. i was going to be in the teens divison, but unfortunately, on the way there,i got lost and ended up in the mens division. i dont know if it would have amde a difference, the guy if faced was probably like 1 or 2 years older. i lost, by an armbar, but he got me in the shoulder. i think i was taped, so ill find out tomororw at my gym. i was really dissapointed at first, because $80 is a lot of money ya know? but i did have fun, the people were really freindly, and got a cool shirt at half off because of a really nice lady there. you learn from mistakes too, and ill try and get better. thanks though guys.

hey, ive been doing BJJ for about 3 months now, no-gi, and i thinking about entering the grapplers tournament in september, but i dont know if its a good idea. im 17, around 155 pounds, and a white belt, so they will put me with a certain division right? honestly, the thing that is really getting to me about this tournament is the cost. i was told it costs $100 to enter. i dont want o pay 100 and have the chance of coming out with nothing. if you lose once are you out? dam, id feel bad paying that much money and not getting out of it. i know it sounds bad, but thats a months worth of jiujistu for me. if i could get a medal that be cool. anyways, im not sure waht i should do.

BJJ for MMA at what belt?
Maddwraph replied to Maddwraph's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
ok, cool. purple belt seems like something i hear. someone told me blue belt at least, but that sounds a little ealry. i also heard from the same person one year of some striiking art like boxing would be enough to help you do good in MMA. -

its better to do one thing and be really good at it, then to do amny thigns and suck at em all, not that you suck on them. like Fairfax said, get good form and your technique down first, then start mixing it.

so negative side effects can happen?

i heard bad things about this creatine stuff, that if you stop working out, its very bad for you. but eh, if its like a protein shake or wahtever, id take it only after some weight training, but thats my weak opinion.
