http://www.capoeira.com/planetcapoeira/ there used to be my capoiera mestre on there. you can probably find him, his anme is Bom Jesus. anyways, there are 3 different types of Esquivas. Esquiva di tras, Esquiva do lado and and Esquiva di frente. Capoeira requires a lot of conditioning and if not taught properly by an instructor (stretching, certain moves especially if its the aerobic moves). so i personally dont think its a good idea to try it out without a instructor. im still a begginer and dont know too much about it, but have learned many things during my 8 month period there. if you have any questions, or would like to know anything, i would be happy to and try my best to answer any question you may have. if you want, you can find me on msn messenger or aol instant messenger. my name is maddwraph on both. that goes to anyone that would want to talk about capoiera or anything else. take care

my guess is you misunderstood. here's a very basic break down of obtaining various results: low sets (1-3), low reps (3-5), very heavy weight: this builds power. medium sets (4-6), medium reps (6-, heavy weight: this builds mass high sets (6+), high reps (8-20), light - medium weight: this builds endurance. unless you are very small and very weak, 6 sets of 8 pushups will not help much in the mass department. Also, you are basically doing 48 reps of the same muscle movement - you are in the endurance category. When you finish, you may notice that you look "pumped". you will also notice that the pump is gone after a few hours. The "pump" is mere your muscles being flooded with blood from the preceeding activity you had. this is common with mass and endurance workouts. I call it the false pump. Definitely stick with the pushups, but not with the goal of gaining mass... sorry, im still not quite sure what you mean. im guess i am kind of weak, i am 5"10 and 158 pounds around. if i continue doing these 6 sets of of push ups (gradualy build up) it will not increase my arm power and chest power (i felt my chess getting stronger) i also heard it helps your triceps whihc im not sure what it is. i think its the under part of your arm. im just curiuos to if i should continue doing push ups, waht results will i get, and how will they help me? btw, thanks a lot for the responses. its really helpful so far.

I need a new computer, how's this one look?
Maddwraph replied to krunchyfrogg's topic in General Chat
burning cds, if you actually have the cds is easy. if you use windows, it will come with windows media player, you put your cds in, then you can burn them. dvds are much harder to burn as far as i know. but luckily my brother just got a dvd burner which is like new technology which burns dvds simply and very good. i dont think youll have to change anything but check again. you should be fine besides the dvds part. -
BJJ useful?
Maddwraph replied to Maddwraph's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
does BJJ have a lot of throwing moves standing up? because i do capoiera and during the summer would want a good grappling martial arts for self defense purposes. -
thanks, btw, can you hurt your back doing push ups? thanks

are they good to do? or the longer you take to do them, the better? when i see those army movies, they do them fast. right now i am doing 6 sets doing 8 push ups. i heard that if you do 6 sets, you can get muscle and big instead of 3 which i was doing. any suggestions? thanks

i dont really know what good mornings and stuff are, but i do know some good back stretches.

i got that balance ball and put my feet on top of it. i then did crunches, but would hold each one for 5 seconds. i did 3 sets of 10. my neck hurt a little but wasnt too bad. when i woke up however the next morning and for a long period of the day, my back was very sore and hurting. im trying to get my abs visible by doing cardio, eating healthier and i had hopes of doing these crunches where you hold them them each for a while because i was told they are good. my gazelle machine is currently broken and im waiting for the parts to come in so for now cardio is just capoiera. im not much of an eater so i dont think thats too bad. i thought this ab exercise would be good becasue i felt my abs burning when doing it. maybe i have to hold for 3 seconds. will my back get used to it? my family has a history of bad back problems and i when i would do a lot of exercises my back would hurt. im hoping to find a way with this ab exercise. someway my back wont hurt. thanks for any suggestions.

how bout if your muscles arent sore each day? will they still catobolize? how can you tell if they are catobolizing? btw, maybe you should lower the weights your doing, so then you can do more and build up like that. worked for me unless my muscles are building themselves which is scaring me now.

are those things helpful or just anotehr scam product? they are the ball where you fill it up with air. i was thinking of getting one because my family has a history of back problems and when i do crunches on the matt on the ground, it hurts sometimes, so i was thinking that soft ball thing would help me. so.. any suggestions? thanks

if you do sometyhing like crunches (feet up in air style) on your bed, is it bad for you?is it more affective to do these exercises on the floor (or by floor a very thin matt on the ground) oh and by the way, does anyone know the best type of foods such as fuits for your abs? like maybe pineapple or something, some suggestions would help. thanks a lot

theres a stretch where you put you hands on the ground, keep your entire feet including heels at the ground and stretch your back up. it makes you look like a cat or wolve or something. you will feel it in your calves. feels good actually.

Yesterday there was a shooting at a club in ohio witha metal concert playing. The famous guitarist Darrel Dimebag who used to be in Pantera was killed. 4 others were killed as well and i think some were wounded. I hope we can all take a moment to pray for him and the others wounded as well as for thier families. scary part to me was that i actually saw this band live last week. its a shame what some people do. God bless all the victims.
