whenever i do an intense martial arts lesson, and i come home, within a minute my whole body becomes stiff like hell and i am aching everywhere, at this point i cant move my legs at all, and cant even lift my legs about waist height, but within the training session i can do kicks head height and outer crescent and inner crescent kicks around a tall person, no prob, but when i come home all my joints hurt, and after a good nights sleep, im still in pain, any ideas to why this is??

its HO-GAT KUIEN , i already know that, but i want to know whats its like?? -
i would prefer an adult teacher, its not that i am being prejudice towards teenagers its just that i feel it would be slightly awkward, one problem is though is that my friends brag about how there master is a 10th dan, and your is only a 4th dan, but wait, wouldnt a 4th dan be more knowlegable of what the basics a are that the 10th, since he has recently just done it, therefore he would be the ideal teacher in teaching me the coloured belts which i am still on, i often find that my 4th dan teacher forgets to remember what he must teach me next, but when the brown belt gives me advice, he remebers it at the top of his head, if your lets say going for your white belt, and there was a yellow belt and a black belt student who would teach you, it would be ideally to chose the yellow belt since it is more fresh in his mind, i know most of you might dissagree though sometimes i would contradict this thought but basically it doesnt really matter how old you are, it matters how much you know, and whether that person is more knowlegable to teach you what you want -ad

its an all catholic school guys, perhaps some fast beat trance music, or heck who gives a **** about the music, im sure you will be great enough for the viewers not to notice it

ive definetly got the speed for it , since i am fast, but there maybe two problems, first i feel i am not shot enough to be able to do it, one question, do you know like the people such as the korean tigers or the jackie chan , bruce lee a likes , they are normally short, arent they??, i am 5,10, but i feel my height should come at a advantage, i dunno maybe you grand masters can share some input on this topic, second one is that i have got the fear factor drilled in me, is it possilbe to break your neck, i feel i might be a bit top heavy, but that can easily be stopped, i hope what i said made sense -ad

thanx alot jack, but first in order to even get near these stunts i need to obtain a good balance, my balance is fairly good, i practice it by doing a front kick slowly and then followed by a back kick, all on one foot, then i do the same with the other, twenty each side, its helpin, have u master got any other ideas of how to improve balance ?, jus cuz im 14, im not a kid, im a young adult , and i jus wanted to be more able to gymnastics, so i can perform more interesting martial arts stunts, such the 540 kicks and high round house kicks, i still am old enough to know what should be used and what shouldnt in a practical combat -ad

sos i have been a bit quiet lately, my comp flunked up again, anyways.... how do you perform the front flip?, back flip?, front role - in air?, back role in air?, basically most of the elements in break dancing? it always facinated me how acrobatics/gymnastics and martial arts related to one another, and how if being a good acrobatic you would excel tremendously in martial arts, i wondered if you guys good give some input of how to achieve some of the following above mentioned stunts, i am very flexible and able, being to jump quite high and if i knew the know how. and took time to practice to increase my general acrobatics, i feel i could achieve those above stunts, -ad _________________ Orange Belt Ho gar kuien Kung Fu Orange Belt Kickboxing 14 yr old 10 and half stone 5,10 [ This Message was edited by: ad on 2002-02-01 18:03 ]

i totally agree, though i feel using weights will be one thing that when i am able to use will enhance my cabability, but these supplements are a waist of time and money.
-
hey all, sos i havent been talkin much, my comp flunked up again i was reading one of these medical magaisines that said that if your ring finger is bigger than your index finger you are likely to be atheletic since you were given more testosterone at child birth, weird, well it isnt true for me, but i would consider myself an athlete, how about for you guys??? -ad _________________ Orange Belt Ho gar kuien Kung Fu Orange Belt Kickboxing 14 yr old 10 and half stone 5,10 [ This Message was edited by: ad on 2002-01-28 11:55 ]

Too deadly for the ring.
ad replied to thaiboxerken's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
i have heard ninjitsu, is too deadly to have people fighting in competitions are in a ring, guys in tight black costumes with a play sword - a punch of pansies really -ad -
no offence to the ladies in here, but the the big competitions which i got to which have got all the categories are the best place to big the honies, i mean for the women, categories, you have under a certain age, under a certain height, and under a certain weight, so say if your perfect girl was a sixteen year old, who is 5ft 9 and his under 90kg, YOU could find a fighter in that category fitting that description , ,sweet, :brow: , -ad

a bleeding lip and a very sore jaw
ad replied to ad's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
hey muay , - what do you mean by ward doge??, i fought the same guy again, i cant believe this guy, he does a full force spinning kick , side kick and round kick, but he does them just so i back off, and if i get hit its my fault , FULL FORCE side kick to the face missed me by a cm literally, then he trips me over, the guy, jus because hes a national champion, thinks he can abuse his power, though the guy really is a safe dude, but when he fights, he a right asshole, -
obviously muscle does play a huge part, if mostly all, in producing power, but as you said piastre, -there are other factors which produce power, you always find the odd one, like mcgee said to me, people who are not that tall , dont look that strong, but they are incredibly strong and and powerful, this is because he was a very wirey person, im sure you guys have seen the odd person who doesnt look that big but it just seems that his whole body and that every muscle in his body is fully tensed up at all time, i imagined it would have been the same case for Bruce Lee, that why it always got me confused, peoples apperance whether being big or tall doesnt really have a impact in changing strength, and what i really want to find out WHY this is

punching in the face in semi contact sparring
ad replied to ad's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
i have become more confident in punching people in the face, : , i started sparring yesterday, and its fun, because i kept on doing it and jus pissed my oppenent of , i just kept on touching him on the eyes on nose, constantly sayin , "put your guard up" , "hit me", -
be dedicated, i do 8-10 hours a week trainin with mondays rest if your serious then i suggest fitting in about 1hr 30min a day, with a least a day rest, it doesnt have to be long but once you get stuck to a rountine, then increasing time will be easy and you will benefit in physical terms enormously -ad

who from the red indians, my mistake, i thought judo came from the usa, because i heard been said in a documentary about bruce lee, but then i realised what it meant to say was that americans were "introduced" to judo, rather than creating it themselves so judo came japan, cool!, but one thing to clarify though, did kickboxing orignally originate from asia?
-
for real thaiboxerken, i thought that pervious equation wasnt fully self-explaminatory, but this makes more sense , the thai kick seems to be a fast kick, i personally think the spinning back fist or back fist , is the fastest move using hands, since it is so fast and utilises not much muscle, but then again the lack of muscle reduce alot of power, punches such as the rear uppercut utilise the whole body in effect and would be more powerful, if you could perhaps make the uppercut a more faster attack, then the results im sure would be devastating -ad
-
this may be slightly insulting to somebody, but not stereotyping anyone, but the asians in my view are the best fighters, so i personally think its better to study there self defense arts, but then again, what do i know , -ad

hey all, this may be slightly embarrising for me, but here it goes, i have been doing HO-GAR KUIEN KUNG FU, for about nine months know, i love it, but im slightly confused of what kind kung fu it is, is it something similar to wushu, wing chunq?, im not quite sure, i understand that there are some similarities with it to wushu, this kung fu art, include forms such as charp choi, kay bau sau fa, and farqen yu, - mind my spellin, , any ideas of what im doin! you guys could help me out here -ad

for real mcgee, - you started at the right age, and got a good rhythm , did you notice some physical enhancements??, jack- i wouldnt say it would do too much, but if your younger than sixteen and still wanna do it, i suggest going easy, or jus waitin, but its totally up to you mann

hey y'all , i dont know what it is but i havent got a thing for going to a gym, i personally think that it wastes too much time, going there and back, and most of the excercies you perform there you can do at home with no worriez, also you shell so much money but then cant be bothered to carry on, and feel as if they have wasted money, i personally converted the spare room in the house i live into a mini gym, theres a cheap treadmill, a decent 30kg 5ft punchin bag, a hard spacious surface for press-ups and crunches, and when im old enough , there is room to put weights, or those huge working machines which let you perform over 30 excercise ., so they say , i dunno what it is, but i jus think a the gym is a rip off, - better to stay at home, but then again im sure you hardcore elder and wiser martial artists no better ,
