whatever floats ya boat mate and three60roundhouse, lets not go into the tkd sucks discussion, theres a seperate forum for that i still stick aside that a kick to the head is powerful, but it depends whether you have got the guts to use it or not, most fights, involve pushin and the occasional punchin, however if you kick a person to the head, you have stepped up the seriousness of the fight a notch higher, which might even put you in a more dangerous position , as jack mentions, if the kick backfires, then your basically screwed, but it still is a useful move if it works

come on prodigy-child, one head kick to a guy, if done successfully will be knocked out straight away, 10 punches to the face wouldnt equal near enough to a solid step side kick or round kick to the head, as soon as the apponent is knocked in the head with your feet, he will be dazed confused, and perhaps even on the floor, which is the worst position to be in a fighting situation i say head kicks are the way to win a fight

Olympics In China
ad replied to MuayTB1's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
this may never happen, but due to china being the home of kung fu is it likely that it would be an olympic event or how about kickboxing, that more univeral isnt it? -

if a guy is gonna attack you with a knife, the person tends to conceal his knife, with his hand being convered by the jacket, sleeve, he will be very precautious with it, and keep his whole arm so distance behind his body, if you are going to be attacked by a knife, the knife is usually placed in a pocket, and the person is likely to cross over with his hand, ie but his left hand in to his right pocket, if you notice these little movements, they might save your life

i think i sort out understood ya, i got into another brawl today about some girl, i was eatin my lunch and the guy was waitin outside, i knew i was going to fight him, anyways whilst eating my lunch, i was pumped up to the max, i was red hot, very angry, thats when this whole sickly feeling pumped in, i couldnt concentrate, i was trying to think, what move should i do and ****, but i just couldnt concentrate, anyways i went to meat the guy, i pushed him, and the adrenaline kept on going, in the end there was no fight, but man if i was conditioned enough or whatever, to actually fight if i was sparring, in which i am completely cool, i would have wu-tahs the guys ass, fair enough

IDEAL KUNG FU STYLE
ad replied to MAVERICK's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
presumably you mean ad, i suggest you read the forum i set up about this guy, it clearly states that i didnt judge my assumption from one fighter, but i think a world champion is quite a good representation of tkd sparring, dont you think? -
picking up on another guys point, i do run at the apponent, which noramlly results in me gettin smacked in the ribs, also i always wait for the oppenet to hit first one general point you will always find a better fighter in sparring match, it is always likely to be the attacker, there always seems to be one attacker, and one defender, one aggresive, and one chicken, you never find two guys going compeltely wu-tang at each other, you will find that one will back down eventaully since he will find that he cant take on his opponent, there always is a better fighter

its amazing how katas and forms make the stances flow, no matter what postition you are, you are always in a stance, forms and katas in my view are the best way of improving you stances

make sure you put more emphasis on the wrist when wrapping, its the most sensitive and important part to protect and welcome to the forum kickit -ad

Hung Fut
ad replied to ChangWuJi's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
this post intersted me changwuji because i being a parctioner of ho gar kung would hope mabe you could actually shed some light on to this art and the history of it, becuase i seem to be in dark with this art that i studied you mention hung gar to be started with the left hands, but i am left handed but right footed , our art always starts with the left hand in the left stance, but there is only one exception, the form Kay Bau Sofa, is started with the right hand,
