ct i have the exact same problem but how old are you, im only 14, so maybe it is differnt for old people , but this what i can tell you you have may several problems, but please dont be alarmed because these are only assumtions, you may have juvenil arthritis, inflammation or abrasion of the tendon muscles, re-alignment of the patella juvenile arthiritis- this is only possible if you are young, and be cured inflammation - this is caused my overstress, on the tendon, perhaps caused be weightlifting or stretching, if this is the diagnosus, then you would need to lay low , and wear are band around the knee, possible emp may be needed, realighnment of patella- this is caused when you work one knee so much and dont pay attention to the other or less distributions of the left laseration muscle,, the patella has been removed from its resting ridge, and will thus cause pain, in order to resore the knee, you would need to build up the muscle in the right laseration muscle i would say ct, that this is quite serious, and seeking medical consultation would be advisable hope i was some help -ad

Whats the best martial art
ad replied to MrDash's topic in Choosing a Martial Art, Comparing Styles, and Cross-Training
mr dash, you appealed to be because me being male aswell and only one year younger than you, i thought i might be able to help you on this i practice, well jus read the signature , i feel that kickboxing would be prefered for the sporty "Tall" type kinda fighter, and the kung fu part of which i do focuses on more on the self defense and inner depth of martial arts, dash- you will notice that the more eastern and philosphical arts are more based on forms and self defense, but the more western and commen arts would focus more and harcore fighting, - take your pick i guess but please i hope this comment hasnt offened anyone, it is only my opinion, and i am not stereotyping no kung fu and kickboxing fighter , -
hopefully, i wish to earn my black belts in both the arts and studies, and continue martial arts with doing philoshpy in oxford university, exploring the inner depths of martial arts and hopefully making a living out of it! but if that doesnt work, i hope to be an u18 world champion in the arts and star in a movie with jet li , -ad

guys, i got sense of humour aswell, only 14 you know, a might not see it, doesnt look too funny more like likings, but in effect movies which take the piss out of kung fu movies like rush hour, are great films, which i loved, so i guess i am being a hypocrit at that and wow, that is so shocking - i didnt know that the western world introduced belts, i thought they were always there, wow, so then how did the "real martial artists", be distingquished from one ability level to another ,, -ad -

no offence , but i think movies which take the piss out of martial arts is wrong, and they shouldnt be released, how can somebody take the piss out of something which has been going on for many years and has earned the respect of thousands, its like what bruce lee taught the western world has been completely forgotten but if some of you are into this kinda thing, then no offence and have a blast of a time -ad -
for real kickchick sos for being a bit too melodramatic lets cotinue this great friendship , -ad
-
some may feel that this comment is slightly absurd, but pain is good for you, without it, you wouldnt know whats the top priority to protect and what is the least , when you fight, with pain u understand that the place that hurts the most, is the most vulnerable, so therefore needs more protecting then again joe could jus be on spliff -ad
-
i like the ones that are coming through, some of the techniques i have yet heard off, but the jab, cross seems to be the favourite here
-
thnx for the tip joe, though do you mean weight-lifting with your legs?, if so, as tantilaising as it may seem, im too young to weigth lift, with me being fourteen i have to wait at least a couple more years b4 i can hit the kilos, -ad

im am sincerely sorry to you kickchick, i didnt mean intend any offence, and i just misinterperted the message, sorry also to you jack, i hope nobodys is offended one of my other favourite combos, are jab, jab, jab, cross, outercrescent , front kick
-
r u taking the piss kickchick?
-
whoa jiggy cheers for the reply, really gave me some insight i have just finished typing my huge, physics essay on accelaration, hope you guys take time to read it, it will come shortly keep the posts commin
-
hey, cheers for the replys, really appreciate it, i really like the combo from you kickchick, i also do the back sidekick rather than the normal twist and turn back kick, i find it well point less, the combo for the kicks were top notch keep em a commin -ad
-
with the equation force = mass x accelaration, so therefore the greater you are, and the faster your perform a punch gives you a greater power???, though wouldnt mass limit your accelration?, u notice how if you use a punch bag, you find you get more power, from a low uppercut, and not using much ditance, than a full flown cross with your stronger hand, its funny that even if your draw your punch as far as possible, the accelration would lower, thus reducing the power, though most people think greater distance = greater power, wrong!! i wonder if people could shed some light on the question that i posed
-
hey all, what are your guys favourite combos when sparring, remeber these combos have to be a serious moves, where the oppenent doesnt have the chance to counter or have time to hit back , they must be quick and fluent the ones i normally do are, jab cross, hook, hook, rear-uppercut, and then a trip, or a front kick, step round kick, spinning kick, back kick, back fist, into rear upper-cut which ones are your favourite ??????

punching in the face in semi contact sparring
ad replied to ad's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
the face always seems to be the most open target when i normally spar with somebody, but i often slightly worried because most of the people i spar with dont wear head gear, yet they still knock me in the face even if i am wearing a head guard, i was interested, in the four hit combo that they normally do, normally a jab, cross, hook, hook, it seems effective, since i am know more confident to hit in the face, do you guys know any decent move to strike towards the face?? -
thnx for the replys. jiggy- i am sure there is much more about physics than basic movement of matter, but you must remeber that there is alot in movement of matter, like biology is the study of organisms, that may sound simple, but there is a whole ****e load to learn thnx for the equation angus, but how could you apply that in lets say in a punch,??, knowlege is king -ad
-
hey all physics itself is about matter and how things move, the body is a very complex matter, and if used in a certain way, utilising the methods of physics to its utmost, can be devastatingly powerful, Bruce Lee develped his martial arts skills by applying his physics knowlege into physical form, and example of this is when he performed the famous "one inch punch", he positioned his body so the accleration of his body and speed were to the maximum, by using the equation acceleration (m/s squared) = change in veloctiy (m/s) / time taken for change (s) and speed = distance moved / time taken Using the above methods and utilising the basic laws of physics, the body can enhance its physical power quite drastically, increasing your performance when fighting -ad

Bruce Lee the Chinese Legend...
ad replied to mastertae's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
he certainly had the flexibility of one -
hey all, when semi-contact sparring , are you allowed to make contact with the face with some power, even if the oppenet isnt wearing a head guard????, often the advanced players, throw a series of punches, pushing me back, making me handicaped in fighting , and i just clutch in a boxers position to keep my head low, ?? any ideas for those two quesies, cheers "knowledge is king" -ad

What is Everyones Actual Rank and Form Of Martial arts?
ad replied to TKD_McGee's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
sorry, but i am getting a bit confused about this kyu and Gup business kyu - is for karate gup - is for TKD, do you start from high to low in karate in terms of kyu , so white is 10, black is 0 and for TKD is that the other way around , so white is 0/1 and black is 10, i really hope if u could shed some light on this situation cuz i really dont know what some of you guys say sometimes, no offence tough -ad
