  1. hey, im on orage blt in kicboxing yet i havent sparred much, im not that good, but i always am told that eye contact is very helpful, one thing, which mentioned earlier, is sidekick, that always seems to be the favourite move in sparring, but when you land, your stance is in a side ways position, making you prone to be tripped, some of the responses have really put some info in to me keep em commin -ad
  2. (whoa my first yellow belt at posting ), for real, thnx for that, im doing that at this moment, thnx for replying sai -ad

  4. i started when i was thirteen, do you guys think thats too young or too old?? i really do get embarrsed since i tran with kids much younger with me who are like brown, purple or even black belt, it sometiem made me think , "why didnt i watch those bruce lee films earlier!" hehe, but when i spar with him, they have great difficulty and i feel i am more the dominant person, not due to physical strength, but to ability to time the moves and apply them more effectively, if ya get what i mean -ad

  10. hey, i havent sparred that much but i have done a far share, but when i do, there always seems to be like a five second pause after you bow, trying to think what to do and what your oppents first move is, its most likely to be a jab, one thing which i always do wrong is that my favourit move is step sidekick, and i always land sideways, giving the oppent the ideal position to trip me up, i also always seem to close my eyes when punching for a split second, or when being kicked at, this is very bad - since i normally get smacked straight in the face since i dnt know where i am!, another fault is that i always always drop my guard when sparring i wonder if you guys could give me some general tips and pointers to help me improve sparring and my faults, i normally get to nervous are pause to think rather than fight!! any info would be helpful -ad _________________ Orange Belt Ho gar kuien Kung Fu Orange Belt Kickboxing 14 yr old 10 and half stone 5,10 [ This Message was edited by: ad on 2001-11-30 13:02 ]
  11. its really hard to calm your senses i mean i believe bruce lee, used his own chi to bring those devastating side kicks and that unforgetable one inch punch i believe inner strength is another word for an adrenalin rush??, scientist did tests on a woman, who manged to lift a 700lb car which was on top of his son, when in reality she could only lift 60lb max in lets say for shopping adrenaline is a very powerful inner strength though i feel what i have said is not what chi is please excuse me for my mistakes , please keep the info commin in
  12. hey, im sure you will all agree that there is a very spiritual side and philasophical one towards general martial arts, i always wondered about how these great martial artists achieve their inner strength, or chi, correct me if im wrong , i noticed how this gave an extra physical and spiritual side when fighting, i wanted to ask whether how it is possible to acheive it, i would be grateful wit any input -ad

  17. i quote from the great martial arts master - Bruce Lee "if water fills a cup it becomes the cup if water fills a bottle it becomes the bottle if water fills a teapot it becomes the teapot water is one of the softest things on earth, yet it can penetrate the hardest things water is insubstancial, i mean that you cant grasp it, or punch it, or hurt. Be like water my friends"
  18. i do 3hrs a week kung fu and 1 and half kickbxing plus i do like a training schedule daily but i find that even this isnt enuf they dnt teach new things each time they make you practice, practice and practice new things doesnt make you better than somebody else but practice does as my teacher told me dnt be afraid of somebody who knows a 1000 kicks be afraid od somebody who has practice one kick a thousand times hope i inputted some info to ya -ad
  19. do on to others , on how others treat you if the guys is trying to hurt you, slash you slash him or hurt him back though morally this is wrong, but disarming a person doesnt mean he/she is not gonna hit you again, though hurting them will prevent them hitting you back, though it does depend how hard you hit the do what you think is right, the street is much more scarier and much different than when you sparring with somebody -ad

  22. hey, i always do this training schedule at 8pm, and finish around nine o clock, then straight after that i have dinner is it recommended that i should eat straight after i train, or should i eat at lets say train around 10:30, after i have eaten?? thnx alot guys -ad [ This Message was edited by: ad on 2001-11-24 18:19 ] [ This Message was edited by: ad on 2001-11-25 07:53 ]
  23. thnx for the coment, when you mean, the crunches - you mean instead of going from head touching the floor to mid air in perpendicular straight in the middle of your knees, going from the floor to the right or left hand side of the kness? at my young age though, i feel that some of the schedule is slightly to taxing for me , it really drains my energy but refreshed afterwards more replys welcome -ad
