not to ruin your hardcore image jack but its actually very easy to knock a bag out of its bracket, if it doest come out, it means that the bag has too much chain hanging off meaning that its too loose and not stable enough, i know many of you would prefer a swinging back, but its a real pain when it goes all over the place, ecspecially when you try combos, its best to have a happy medium, if you round house kick it, and it falls of, the chain to the bag needs to be shorter

hey jack, i must say, BLOODY HELL, those were hard, for the last two sets, i just held my body up in the press up position since my arms cained so much , and i couldnt bear to do another interval, they are very intense and seem to be working like a charm, thnx alot of the advice, i really appreciate it one more quezzie though, when reading that document it states that the tabata try out is very efficent in maximising your heart rate, but i read also that the one minute try out is also helpful in maximising you heart rate which is one is better, i feel the tabata one is better but i still am advised that the one minute is also more helpful

for real, i believe in that completely i never would probably get admission to a gym, cuz firstly i think its pointless and secondly i cant afford it a gym is pointless cuz you can do whatever you would want to at a gym at home, plus its cheaper and doesnt take as much time, dont think that by eating constant chocolates and going to the gym every other week, that you can count yourself as being healthy, in my view the gym is a just a gimic just to rip the average paid person off, even bruce lee trained at home

i seem to do a set seperate routine of kicks and punches, do you think i should mix them up, and just try out everything for lets say at one minute intervals, with like 30 second rest, doing lets say four of them?

Little something to try out if you have a lot of space

isnt that basically shadow boxing ?, but whereas with shadow boxing you dont need much room at all -
thanx for the advice, but the book advertises, that its guarantees a perfect split within 6-10 weeks, is that true? it mentions a "new scientific method of stretching"

i noramlly perform bag work around 4days a week, its aint anything intense or regulated, but i was hoping you guys could give me a good routine at the mo it goes like this 50 no glove punches then about 300 glove punches then 25ridge hands , both hands 25 hooks and uppercuts, both hands then i perform front kicks, round kicks, side kicks, step sidedkicks, step front kicks, and step spinning back sidekick, i do five of each and do it with each leg, thats about it, since i am already following a time system with my press ups and crunches, i was thinkin maybe you guys and garls think it would be a good idea to do some sort of timing rountine with the number of punches and kicks?

im sorry bon but i just dont agree with you, whether the girls come across me as being arrogant and egostic, i dont really care, if i walked away and that guy didnt take no for an answer, and raped her when i wasnt there, then i couldnt stare myself in a mirror again, i would be constantly saying to myself, "why didnt you do something when you had the chance", you may think that if you walk away and that is the best solution, but how do you know it is, how do you know that walking away is the safest oppurtunity, neutralise all threat, that what i say, dont live your live being scared and fearing every corner, that why i learn martial arts, so i wont have fear in me -
so what do u mean by a warm up?, light jogging?

Jack why isnt it necessary to perform stretches during a workout????, when i perform kicks on the punch bag, isnt it necessary to stretch before i do those kicks, in order not to pull any muscles, i do stretches as part of a warm up, what the harm? i really apprecaite the article you have sent me, i am currently reading it, and i will tell you what i think in the next post

for real muay, i agree totally, what prodigy-child said was so true, if you read my post about a similar situation, you will see that things didnt turn out how i hoped, my girl is pissed out at me, girls dont like this macho attitude, but in no way did you show it, if i was u , i would have done exactly the same thing, defending a friend who you have known for all your life is your duty, that is what friendship is, your girlfriend however is some girl you have known for lets say 6 months max, dont feel that what you did was wrong, your girlfriend's reaction was typical and unfair, dont go crawling to her back, but i would still if i was in this kinda situation, cuz mann girls are fine she will get over it -

patrick i asked them what they thought, some dissagreed, thats fine, i stook to what i believed in, i dissagreed to what some people said, i just wanted to know whether what people thought about what i did, whether i agreed with them or not hasnt really anything to do with it, i was asking other people to express their views and thoughts, and i did not say in anyway "What i did was right and justified and your way doesnt always work" i dont really like it when people put words in my mouth -
i recently have made a sudden change in my training routine, my routing normally goes like this, press ups then crunches then a variety of stretches and the bag work, the part i changed was the press ups and crunches, i always used to set numbers of them , such as 20 press ups, 20 kuncle press ups and then like a hundred crunches however i have changed this routine to how many i could do in a set minute, so i would time my self for how many press ups i could do in a minute, and how many crunches i could do in a minute, and then take my results every month, i do this is to primarily reach my max heart rate, however i do like to do a variety of press ups , such as shoulder, knuckle. and i find that after doing a minute of intense press ups, i dont have the energy to do another set minute of a different type of press ups, so therefore what i have done is this, i do my minute of press ups and a minute of cruches before stretching, another after stretching and another after bag work, so it would look like this 1min press ups and one 1min crunches stretching 1min knuckle press ups and one 1min crunches bag work 1 min shoulder press ups and one 1min crunches, i wanted to ask if this was wise, are recommend to be done, is it okay to do press ups and crunches after stretching and after bag work??, i did this so i could get more accurate results, rather than to just take a minutes rest after each intense minute of excercising, also i wanted to know whether this number of times in a minute routine is better than the set number routine,

i was reading an interview with Partick Strong, who is supposedly one of Bruce Lee's students, he comments about bruce lee's lifestyle and is relation with him, i feel he has slightly manipulated bruce lee's views in his own, he says that many of the things that bruce lee thought, he thought aswell, he tries to portray as him being a great martial artist and an adviser of bruce lee, which i feel is wrong and is just a money making scheme as there is being a sudden demand for bruce lee information however, there was an interesting comment in the interview which i had some trouble understanding, it was about something know as non-intentions, which Strong said was the key to bruce lee's speed, i didnt have much understanding of this, and after i read the interview, i still dont, i wondered if any of you knew how to explain this in more lamens terms

Any OTHER MA you would like to learn?.....
ad replied to OldRookie's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
i think we would like to learn all arts, but i think in order to come even close to that with the time we have in our lives, its best to learn arts from different continents, the general arts of each different type, for example, South American Arts, European Arts Southern and Northern Chinese Arts Japanese Arts Filipino Arts Korean Arts And knowledge of weaponary i feel that if you had a taste of all of the above, then you really have tried out the majority of martial arts. -
yeah for real i know many people would think that martial artist is a peaceful person, but lets face the facts, we would all be scared of bruce lee, why?, because he excels in martial arts, thus making him a better fighter, thus making him more violent, many people who get attacked on the streets with no martial art experience at all, will run away, but most of the martial artist who are brilliant at what they do, will fight back, this decision to fight back, is due to the knowledge of martial arts, so therefore it is martial arts that promotes fighitng back, thus promoting violence

thnx angus, i gues you know how annoying those rednecks can be, proper rascists Patrick im slightly confused, are you implying that what i said was wrong, or are you saying that what McGee said was wrong, anyways i apologise for whatever i did, well things now are not why i expected, my girlfriend thinks i am some ruthless thug, she is kinda blanking me at the moment, but things should come back to normal, she was proud of what i did, but she still a bit shaken up about how i reacted, i really hit the guy hard -
im afraid i am going to have to say that martial arts really does promote violence many of you will dissagre with that point though many people do learn martial arts to be a better fighter which mean being a more violent and deadly person on the street martial arts to the odd maniac, teaches them ways of hurting the oppoenet more, to disable to make unconcious, it teach to fight better, thus making the person more violent, it teaches to have better technique so the person can do maximum damage to there oppoent thus maximising the violence.

hey McGee , dont underestimate a 14 year old, we have pretty complicated lives too, they guy who i hit was some 18 year old kev, for all you guys who dont live in england, a kev is a scawny bloke who wears big cold chain with the white nike caps and think there hard, basically kevs cause trouble many of you think that my actions werent justified and were wrong, but trust me, i have been but into postions like thi b4, and if i didnt do anything, the guy would, and i didnt want to jeapordise putting my girl in that position, sometimes a "just go away and leave us alone" doesnt always work -
mate if i was you, which i have been put into situations like this b4, its just not worth it, you dont know how much trouble if you get into fights into school, a kid was messing around with me once, and pushed him, a teacher saw, and i got branded as a bully?!, this system is tough and strange in school, if somebody tries to ***** slap you, and you return in a self defense manner which sends him to hospital, dont feel that your actions were justified by the reason you were defending yourself, because the moral right rules and the real rules arent the same if he still bugs you, hit him, but not hard, let him know whos boss,
