what type of surfaces have you been working out on. if the surfaces are different. such as wood, asphalt, concrete, grass, or dirt. i would consider the shin splint theory. where rest and fliuds would be recommended.

try long muscle stretching very slowly with no bouncing. if you have any pain or discomfort back off...take it very slowly and take your time. don't push it because over time it will come. i agree if you have pain or discomfort that persist, consult a physician. remember flexibility is the key not only to the martial arts but to life.

skipping ranks
iamrushman replied to dreamer38f's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
also, just because your of highter rank you are still expected to learn everything from the beginning.............basically your still a white belt with a lot of knowledge.......its not about the belt its about the knowledge........ .....futhermore, for identification purposes of knowledge you should hold the black belt. of course thats my humble opinion. .....each school is different and some do make you a white belt regardless of previous training. -
skipping ranks

it is very uncommon in the systems that i have been involved with, unless the student has had some sort of prior knowledge. most likely they were black belts in another system or style. -
this is an introduction area.......not an outhouse.

really....is there anything you like besides YOURSELF?

after seeing the respones on the subject of ninjitsu...........and i must say they were very interesting. with that, .i bring the discussion here about ninja movies. sho kosugi made a few ninja movies, return of the ninja /pray for death /etc, that had very entertaining sword play and interesting subject matter. however very predictable. _________________ rushman (taekwondo moderator) 3rd dan wtf/kukkiwon florida This Message was edited by: iamrushman on Jul 7, 2001 11:12am

my point is not that of boot camp training .....but the lack of discipline and humility! _________________ rushman (taekwondo moderator) 3rd dan wtf/kukkiwon florida This Message was edited by: iamrushman on Jul 6, 2001 10:51am -
thaiboxerken ....are we talking front or rear leg roundhouse?

size does not matter...............if your large your have weight, and power on your side....if your small you have speed and agility on your side................personally intellect and technique plays a larger roll than size. the knee/shin and sweeps are to the small persons advantage......upper body and strong arm techniques are to the large person advantage. use your mind and your advantage will be obvious.

glad you mentioned for the street. if there is no other way out of the situation: i prefer knee/shin kicks/ and sweeps; works well to get extra time to think. lastly and always, avoid confortation whenever possible. violence is always the last alternative. and only to protect your or yours life and the innocent/weak.

thats the problem with today's family values. too many parents want to be friends with there chidren. we need to incorporated the values of discipline within the family. if a child does something wrong, they need to be disciplined for it. therefore; in order to learn the physical laws of value...... "that every action has an equal and opposing action"...... futhermore; in any group, being a teaching or family, there needs to be a leader and assitant to compliment each other. yes; having fun while learning is important, however, the lesson must still be learned. an old african proverb: it takes a village to raise a child (student). (read TAE'S responce again) -
again good work grandmaster patrick...........where do you come up with these faces.

Your oppinion on boxing
iamrushman replied to Lars's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
to all those who think boxing is weak. another boxer was killed recently in the ring.......so there you go another blow to professional boxing.....do you feel they will have to wear protective gear now in pro contact sports? sad but true......another death for boxing. -
true; sport is sport and it is for show.........especially olympic sports......same goes for judo / wrestling / track and field / boxing / et.al. olympic sports are for bringing all countries together unpolitically. at least thats what it's supposed to be.
