  1. welcome GOOSE and SHORTDOG....happy posting and good luck with your mailing list.
  2. LORI..would love to hear you sing........what songs are you specialty?
  3. instructors must have patience.......IMHO; there are no such thing as a retarded student..just students that learn slower than others....it takes a lifetime to master the martial arts and some lessons take longer than that.
  4. my question is what sport will the chinese introduce as a demo sport?....any comments? i feel it's great that the olympics will be in china for the first time. karate willl have to wait till japan host the olympics till then karateka keep practicing
  5. LORI...you could try a jump turning back kick...where you jump away from the opponent and execute a turning back kick in the air..thus giving distance and technique at the same time....good luck and don't give up.
  6. welcome short dog...and keep posting
  7. well said DAVEANT..........your example is true martial arts in action.
  8. TIM thanks for the inspiration and information you provide to all of here a karateforums......i wish you the best in your pursuits. we will all miss you while your gone and hope the best for you during you training. please be safe and come back to us....we will miss your words. bill
  9. i agree...nothing but the basics when it comes to street life situations.......such as kicks below the belt, sweeps, stomps and and basic turning kicks. violence to protect life and loved ones, not ego. _________________ rushman (taekwondo moderator) 3rd dan wtf/kukkiwon florida This Message was edited by: iamrushman on Jul 15, 2001 6:17pm

  12. great example daveant.............martial arts has something for everyone no matter what their age, lifestyle or handicap.
  13. it's still a great story to read about people defending life and property...lucky it turned out ok for them.

  15. well said and well put TIM...but another aspect (of course not in so many words. LOL)is the inept or prejudicial view and judgments of the referees and trainers that judge the particular fighting sports.......my example is the fiasco of the 1988 boxingmatch where lou duva et. al. provided a better bout than the performers.
  16. welcome GOOSE and we anticipate your entries. happy posting humble respects with a bow
  17. welcome DAVEANT....happy posting humble respects with a bow
  18. personally i don't think you'll find any realistic MA movies.......but then isn't fantasy what movies are about. you might try "circle of iron" ( possibly written by bruce lee)( david carridine in it) or "the challange" ( alt. name "sword of the ninja")(scott glenn in it) _________________ rushman (taekwondo moderator) 3rd dan wtf/kukkiwon florida This Message was edited by: iamrushman on Jul 13, 2001 7:56pm
  19. yes dreamer; i saw you too and i'm scared of you sweetie(LOL)...WITH YOUR NEW BRIGHT BELT..............
  20. to even be considered muay thai/thai boxing must be held in thailand, it's home country. and then as a demostration sport....but that might change the make up of this sport because of the rules that would have to be enforced. it happend to tkd/judo/boxing just the same. humble respects with a bow _________________ rushman (taekwondo moderator) 3rd dan wtf/kukkiwon florida This Message was edited by: iamrushman on Jul 13, 2001 7:27pm
