yes; this is something i don't like to share, but i feel you friends here can keep a secret. i have been in a few altercations (nothing i ever feel is a good thing). but anyway; once, i was jumped outside a bar when i was in AZ., this person hit me from behind while i was under the influence and trying to go home. now,i know being a taekwodoist you won't believe it but it was elbows and knees that sent me to jail and him to the dentist. i'm sure he's still having problems with his teeth now. in most street fighting situations it's not a face off but a cheap shot that gets it started. so you must be able to take it as well as dish it out. violence is the last resort and only to protect life and loved ones not ego.

iamrushman replied to taezee's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
very well put and an interesting way of making it understood........it is true and when the instructor walks around class counting and yelling, they don't have time to show there techniques. humm, maybe there drinking diet orange soda too. -
what type of poomse do you practice?
iamrushman replied to iamrushman's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
NEIL0092...keep up your studies of the taekwondo poomses...as you advance you'll find more intense hand and blocking techniques to learn. the black belt forms are full of creative offensive and defensive hand techniques. -

now i know some of you will want to say breaking bones or heads are your favorite but those are not the answers i'm looking for. here are some of my experences: 3 concrete slabs without spacers with a hammer fist for my 3rd dan cert. 3 pine boards each with a dual reverse punch and 3 pine board each with a jumping dual front kick simultaneousy for a demonstration. 5 pine boards with a flying side kick over 10 kneeling students for a demonstration. i would really like to hear of your experences with these types of breaking techniques. _________________ rushman (taekwondo moderator) 3rd dan wtf/kukkiwon florida This Message was edited by: iamrushman on Jul 17, 2001 8:17pm

i was watching the ISKA breaking championships on espn tonight and it brought this question to mind. does any students or instructors here allow and/or practice breaking techniques in your schools? if so, what are your favorite techniques? what are you best breaks?
