  1. I have seen the odd snippet of those types of "routine" , music and glitter with bo or Nunchuks, are there really competitions out there like that? What do they call that sort of thing?
  2. ANy ideas where I can find someone with them in stock? Travelling around the US , so won't be here forever........ a few stores are telling me they would have to order in..... Thanks for any help, Bull
  3. I think Cloe Bruce holds the record..... might be wrong tho...
  4. Ask any Olympic athlete, I'm guessing they will say yes......
  5. Interesting. A prickly one for sure, maybe a separate class, like Invictus (military vets games). Everyone would be in the same situation in this case. I noticed that the article mentions that trans women have to wait 12 mths to compete, but trans men can compete immediately. I am assuming that this is so because they assume that the trans man will not be as strong as other men.....
  6. Guys might have upper body strength, but judging by the amount of women that kick me in the head while sparring, they have it when it comes to flexibility!!!!
  7. I am going to learn more cool stuff, polish and polish what I already know and keep working on my flexibility.
  8. Great work and great news!!
  9. Try to understand the bunkai of each move if you are bored (Maybe not the right word). I love kata tho, some more than others, but I would say once you have the perfect kata then you can rest...lol.................i.e. never.......

  15. Imagine during the mayan empire, heaps of hand to hand stuff I imagine. Some Kobudo in "Apocalypo"..
  16. Welcome Shorty, for a shotokan practitioner, or anyone really, a good book to read would be "Karate do my way of life" by Funakoshi. Very cheap price in paperback. Well worth a read.
  17. Gidday from down under Budokaprince.
  18. I have put the idea out there, but no-one else seemed too keen. first movie would have to be Kuro Obi tho......
  19. Just found this on the face. https://www.facebook.com/peopleareawesome/videos/1136502093065634/ And this: https://www.facebook.com/livingarrowhorsebackarchery/?hc_ref=NEWSFEED&fref=nf Pretty cool, that someone is actually training in something like this in modern times....
  20. Hi Aurik, at least you are training, instead of just talking about it, that's the main thing. Enjoy the time with your son!
  21. I was demonstrating makiwara to a 16 yr old girl and showed her my hands. In horror she exclaimed "OMG I'm not doing that to my hands!" I had a good chuckle over that one....
  22. Maybe an all-encompassing "combative training".......
