  1. Looks terrible, and once again, flashy...
  2. Well likewise the same applies to Taekwon-Do (Foot Fist Way) which should in theory place equally amounts of emphasis on the hands and feet. yeah but also in TKD tourneys, it is almost all kicks there...
  3. 1st Dan Test in Kodokan was around 5-6 hours.. My instructor gave me my belt and said "congratulations, your now an advanced white belt.."
  4. I me my wife at a grocery store..
  5. Yes! I love that game. I have every one of them since ps1...
  6. There is a review that says it is way better than the first because, it gets to the whole "experiment gone wrong" really quickly and gos straight to the action..
  7. I talked to a man that I havent seen in like 4 years yesterday, well, it was because he went to prison, FYI- he was a 2nd dan in Kyokushin. I didnt ask him why he went, but I asked him what is was like? was he afraid of the people? which lead to the conversation of being mentally ready to fight? He said that all the prisoners that he talked to said they had "butterflies" everytime they had to fight? he said that they just accepted the inevitable, that they knew it was prob going to hurt but still did it.?? I know this topic has been talked about for a while, but peoples opinions change as well.. Lets get real, EVERY fight I have seen in my life, were nothing like the movies, they were scared, or threw haymakers, some of them very talented martial artists, why is it that when it comes down to it, everything goes out the window?? and I am talking about 3rd, 4th degree BB's fighting like as if they have never trained a day in there life??
  8. I shook hands with Satoshi Ishii, the All Japan Judo Champion for 2006.. I told him that I would give him my yearly salary just to train me for one year? I had him sign my Gi.
  9. October 8th.
  10. I would ask them if they are there to learn to fight?
  11. Abercrombie and Fitch...
  12. get a friend that is willing and have him or her put on boxing gloves and have them try to hit you, not hard, but enough to make contact.. tell them to hit "realistically", and you try to block..
  13. in most places its all about keeping the students... I would never compromise my art just to keep students, it should be taught the right way, and if they don't like it, they don't have to stay.. every summer my Judo instructor would have like 10 people start his class.. and by the end of the week, he would have one or none left, cause they would quit it was so hard.. we had a total of 12 people in our class..
  14. Here is the way I look at this scenario: I am the teacher. I know this Martial Art; they do not. I teach; they do not. They are paying for a service, and that is what they are getting. However, I decide what is taught, and how the classes are dealt with, along with other situations involved in class. If they do not like it, then they don't have to stay. But it is my class. Exactly..
  15. your just talking about competition or sparring purposes right? not self-defense..
  16. Don't know much about the other ones, but, it all depends on what you want?? have you sat in on any of the classes to see if you like them or not? personally, I would go with judo, it can take you between 4 to 6 years to get black...
  17. I got one, DONT train anyone under 16.. thats what my Judo instructor did.. but then of course, if it was like that for all places, they would probably lose half or more of their students...
  18. I would say a punch to the temple would be quite damaging, although, it would be hard to hit considering it is a smaller target, but I think if it lands it could do quite the damage if not kill them... or a throw where their head hits the ground on contact.. I am tied up between these two???
  19. mc dojo?? it just may have been the person, thats all.... doesn't mean the whole place is full of people like that...
  20. I dont know, I usually try to do it Jason Bourne style, like look for any signs on the person that would make me think, hmm, this person may be trouble..
  21. 130 dollars seems like way way way too much to me!! I dont care how much training you get!! Maybe its just me, but I only paid 30 dollars a month and helped out around the dojo, ( which wasn't much work at all )... honestly, I wouldn't pay a cent over 80 a month for any training....
  22. During Judo tournaments, I noticed that a few of the throws worked better most of the time, and I would practice those more to get better and actually at one point in time, I would almost win all my matches using only 3 throws..
  23. I have a full life right now, and I am only 22!! but, we are starting to settle down.. we plan on having a kid in about one year, I really hope its a boy!! so I can teach him everything I know.. hopefully he will like martial arts?
  24. Big fan...such a big fan! Yep. those breadsticks get me every time!
