  1. If someone says "I am doing Muay Thai and BJJ" then they should say just that. People did not develop their martial arts so it can be called something else in the future when to me, nothing in the those arts have changed to make it into a "new" one. mma is NOT an art. in my opinion, its a fad if anything. Also, I believe its not evolving, it just took something like the UFC to get them out into the open. before that, nobody really even heard of BJJ.
  2. I wouldn't call MMA a style by no means.. its called MIXED martial arts. and personally, I would be upset that they would take that away from the people who developed them. Muay Thai will be called Muay Thai, BJJ will be called BJJ, ETC.. Nothing else.
  3. I agree, probably a low roundhouse to drop the guard. or maybe a push or snap kick the privates, if it doesn't land it would prob lower their guard at least to setup for the knockout.
  4. You start learning from day 1, doesn't matter how long, or what color your belt is...
  5. It is probably pretty slim, but, there is only one way to find that out and that is by actually doing it.. Practice a REALISTIC 3 or 5 man Randori... That could prob help your chances of getting out with minimal injury...
  6. I would be a Rock star..
  7. If money was no object, what would your dream career be? and why?
  8. I have had some really hot days when I was in Judo, the Gi's were thick and heavy as it is...
  9. I didn't have to worry about that cause my instructor and I didnt even let anybody start to train until they were 16...
  10. I agree BUT, the "mere child" was helping you with your stuff just to pass your test, not self defense... cause in my opinion, today, thats all people worry about is if they get there "stuff" down just to pass the test, I am not talking about you of course, I was speaking in generalities.. I was talking about SELF DEFENSE.. I believe a kid cannot give us the best training for a possible life threatening situation... cause in my opinion, any kid can help you with a kata or a punch or a kick, NOT self defense.... and the "child" may have some experience, but not enough to trust my life on it...
  11. I cannot agree more.. In my opinion, a Youth instructor around 16 would not be able to teach the "mind set" of fighting and mentally prepare for a fight.. cause the lack of experience.. the main reason why we go to class is to learn self-Defense.. for example: life threating situations...
  12. Personally, I dont like it... I guess its okay to have a BB BUT, I would not even come close to letting him teach... I would not want to learn anything from a kid....
  13. I would rather have the training and never have to use it then need to use it and not have the training.. and my motivation was just to get to get better, and when I got there I would try to get better than that...
  14. Ahh "Kuzushi".. balance breaking. There is someone who has good training. Hats off to you Throwdown. Thank you Zanshin sorry for the misspelling...
  15. I dont know why, but that just made me laugh??.. not at you of course.. but seriously... i guess it was just stating the obvious? all you guys (and gals) here, make me smile..
  16. what you can do to really help with your sweeps in practice Kazushi ( taking off balance ). then it becomes way more easy to perform the takedown or sweep..

  19. Chest today, kinda sucked though, I was putting new tires on my car at like 10:30 last night while my wife held the flash light.. but where i am getting at is I think I injured my left bicep a little, I had to stop that workout early...

  21. oh yeah, I forgot a Cold Air Intake system with Intercooler for the turbo... goofy me...
  22. I would want a 94-2000 Honda Civic , with a Garret T-95 turbo with wastegate, totally rebuilt block, 3Aracing exhaust with DC headers, and a racing Tranny, short throw, NO NOS!! G4 performance ECU, Dropzone suspension... the car is not much of a dream but to have all that stuff to boost it, like $15,000, that would qualify enough for a dream to me...
  23. I would say winning state was my best moment.. those were the days.....
