i know that cardio is very important but there is a difference between cardio kickboxing and running for a half hour to 45 mins... a big difference and kickchick if you wanna show this that messege i made earlier to your male students go ahead hell they can email me directly heres my email address h-jandu@mailcity.com lol! oh and ramcalgary......i do not think skipping is wimpy at all....heck i come 1 hour before my training with my sensei and fellow students to skip and stretch and so on.....i do alot of running too and even when i was in taekwondo back in the day i was running so i could get my endurance up i for one are not one of the idiots who just goes in the ring and slugs it out [ This Message was edited by: Prodigy-Child on 2001-12-20 13:04 ]

i keep having dreams about doing the normal and boring stuff that people do in their everyday lives.......like the other night i had a dream that i was loading up the dishwasher....i havent had too many wierd dreams just many normal dreams that are boring and do not make much sense in going into them with any depth

we have cardio kickboxing at our dojo....i just do it for the warm up but i will be honest and say that a HATE it. id rather skip or run for a half hour then do cardio kickboxing..... when i tell people that i kickbox....i remind them and i say "real kickboxing" not that "cardio kickboxing" garbage..... real kickboxing is when you spar....do focus pad work and work the heavy bag....not jumping around like a fairy

How important is speed to you?
Prodigy-Child replied to Singularity's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
i try to make a balance of speed and power for myself......both are important but 1 shouldnt be put over the other the only thing i put above speed and power is technique because when you got the technique down pat then you can do it faster and naturally with speed comes power in most cases -

whats the best way...
Prodigy-Child replied to kicker's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
if a person throws a high roundhouse to your head try to surge forward and knock them off balance with some punches and end it off with a nice hard kick while they are covering up it doesnt matter how good of a kicker they are cuz when you kick you are not as solid as you are on two feet -
Strengths and Weaknesses?
Prodigy-Child replied to Jiggy9's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
speaking of calmness.........before a fight i remain as calm as i can......i usually am quite excited before a fight but i take all that excitement and i bottle it up untill about 15-20 mins before my fight where i unleash some of it in my warm up.......then i let it all out in the ring and do what i gotta do to win -
Crescent Kicks
Prodigy-Child replied to SuperMinh's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
for competition the cresent kick or axe kick as it is called up here is great because it is very visual and when a judge sees it land it scores big points and can turn a fight around on a self defense aspect its not a good kick -

im 16 and im doing some pretty serious lifting right now.........i dont think i am gonna grow any more either cuz i have been 5'8 for about 2 years now so i think ive stopped growing.....not cuz of lifting but cuz of genetics my dad is short and has alot of short people on his side of the family and my mom has alot of tall people on her side so i guess im a hybrid or inbetween

Prodigy-Child replied to Prodigy-Child's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
yeah tommy that question wasnt pointed towards you cuz i have seen your pictures on fight card posters and such along with a few guys i know -
im not gonna say any names of promoters or judges but i think it is a shame that there are so many corrupt judges out there. whether its for political, money or whatever reason there is i think it is bull**** and another thing is that i know alot of fighters who go into bouts knowing that they are gonna win cuz the result has already been bought.........so as they are climbing through the fight rankings and finally get to a title match they are nothing but empty champions personally i rather fight...give it my all and loose a whole bunch of bouts then be a empty champion because in the end the only person you are cheating is yourself......

Art of your choice or the one available?
Prodigy-Child replied to SaiFightsMS's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
i started martial arts when i was 13 in taekwondo mainly because it was all that was available to me and a friend of mine at the time was doing it.......i then got tierd of it and i took off to do what i really wanted to do.....kickboxing and now i do jiu jitsu along side with kickboxing i consider myself quite lucky to be doing the art i wanna do.... -
do flash drills, your partner flashes a focus pad and you try to kick it instantly......takes some time but it'll help u out trust me
-
i pay about $60 a month which is pretty good considering what i get for it access to the weights........it covers both the kickboxing and jiu jitsu classes and a free pair of gloves or something like that

Prodigy-Child replied to Prodigy-Child's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
i feel that its neccessary to have a training partner or somebody like a coach helping you train because you cant always see your own faults that can be your down fall in the ring or the street -
macho manufacturs the metallic sparring gear i personally think its kinda cheesy!
