iron arahat...........i think it is great what your are doing for the community. the yearly fee isnt much so it opens up the door for underprivliged kids to do martial arts and the fact that you train fighters for free is amazing.....cuz they wont have to bust their ass working just to pay to get trained -
just eat alot of protiens and stuff to re-build the muscle tissue then ya wont be as sore

Aerobic Kickboxing
Prodigy-Child replied to KickChick's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
we got cardio kickboxing at our dojo.......i do it just for a warm up though.....i dont really feel that it is much of a work out after our cardio class we have the more intermidiate class where we work on technique and conditioning and then we spar thats where i get my work outs from that and also from our jiu jitsu classes -
technically wise you should be speaking with your trainer about that conditioning wise i think all the advice i could give is that you should do alot of anaerobic conditioning and aerobic conditioning maybe you have alot of endurance but your anaerobics is lacking......that being said you will seriously pay for it when you cant muster up that short burst of energy to finish off your opponent so work on anaerobic conditioning alot!

im gonna have to go with Ken and Angus on this one Kata is pretty useless.........and will not help you be a better fighter in a street fight like ken said its just a bunch of robotic movements practiced in a static motion another thing is that kata is primarily striking techniques.....in a street fight people are going to grab by the neck......by the hair , ears whatever and in that situation kata becomes useless

thats one of the reasons i stopped training in tae kwon do its way too strict.....i understand that there is supposed to be order and dicipline in class but that is just taking it way too far......... we are martial artists NOT marines -
i try to stay away from pain killers....as long as i can live with the pain and it isnt imobilizing me i wont take a pain killer but you gotta be realistic man if the pain is too much then ya just gotta pop a couple asprin ...........in other words take them in moderation

some may believe that anger makes them a better fighter but i fight alot better without anger because my mind is clear
-
i am going to have to disagree with you too taezee everyone can control their anger. say if your sensei, your boss, a cop or a really big guy who could probobly kick your ass got you mad 9 times outta 10 you would control your anger now when you let your anger out and get into a big out burst the only reason why you did that is cuz you believed you could get away with a temper tantrum thats what i believe personally
-
i have the problem of bottling up my anger and putting it away somewhere. and then sometimes something pisses me off and i just snap and a violent outburst comes out (its not like i go around hitting people) but i become an asshole and i just start cursing and telling people what i really feel about them. this has happend in the dojo one time. i snapped one time cuz i just couldnt hit my partner cuz he is so tall and i ended up paying for it with a black eye

what exactly do the arts entail when it comes to hand to hand combat? is it just striking or is there submission holds and throws?

uhhh moobrack im gonna have to disagree with you saying that the guy earned that 3rd dan. there is alot of that type of stuff going on and i wish it would stop cuz it is giving people the wrong idea about the arts. -

Prodigy-Child replied to sanda_kickboxing's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
when u said that the hieght is there but the speed isnt it kinda sounded familiar i have this bad habit as well u might be winding your kicks from outside too much which sends alot of info on what you are doing i do it all the time im trying to get rid of that habit just try kicking up that straight line and keep that in mind when sparring -
how do you like your sensei?
Prodigy-Child replied to angiewinter's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
my sensei is great. i have alot of respect for him because he has patience and patience is what you need if you are teaching me something new because needless to say i am a bit slow
