i know alot of people who do traditional martial arts such as karate and tae kwon do and think i am not a good fighter just cuz i dont have a conventional belt in kickboxing. this happen to me a couple days ago at a martial arts seminar i had a bunch of black belts come up to me and ask me what belt i am and i said i dont follow a ranking system. they all started laughing at me and they were kinda trying to intimidate me i just wanna say that i do not get intimidated by people who have black belts........i have beaten a few black belts in open martial arts tournaments and i believe that black belts do not make you and immortal fighting machine.

this is all about terrorism in the practical sense and the person who did this must be punished but from a philosophical point of view.........this all comes down to hatred.....how can people hate eachother so much to use planes as missiles towards innocent people? we have just got to stop hating eachother in this world. we are all created equally. it doesnt matter if you are black, white, brown, orange green blue whatever..........your blood is red like mine and thats all that matters we need to respect eachother as human beings........i watch the news on tv and i see everyone in the world just shooting eachother! i just cant figure out why these people just cannot drop their weopens and stop fighting.......if you hate somebody that much just leave eachother alone there are few people i know at school and at work that i dont like and sometimes i feel like punching them out but the meer fact that i dont like them wouldnt justify the fact that i hit them. the same goes with picking up a gun and killing somebody cuz of their religion i just needed to get this off my chest

full contact TKD
Prodigy-Child replied to Prodigy-Child's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
well in boxing or kickboxing they judge points but they dont have those little target things..... -
i just saw some full contact TKD on tv and i noticed that they were wearing that big chest pad and a helmet........now i can understand why they wear the helmet but doesnt the chest pad take away the "full contact" idea?

im just wondering how all you people feel about point karate sparring? another thing........where did point sparring first come from? id find it quite hard to believe that it came from the orient......

kicking good is a physical thing as much as it is a mental thing when you are sparring just maintain a certain calm and relaxsation relax all your muscles and your mind and it will all start coming along.......i guarantee it almost think as if your feet weigh nothing keep bouncing and throw all your material from a non static movement its working for myself!

To Gi or not to Gi, that is the question.
Prodigy-Child replied to thaiboxerken's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
i see where you are coming from ken but it is kinda hard to do some jiu jitsu and judo techniques without a gi and i live in canada so it gets pretty cold here so you can use a winter coat for soemthing to grab and throw a person -
I want to do something else...

Aerobic Kickboxing
Prodigy-Child replied to KickChick's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
a good example of an anerobic excercise is going on a bag and kicking or punching continuisly 5, 10, 20 or 30 seconds ALL OUT we do those excersices untill our bodies forces us to slow down or stop..........a few people have actually thrown up after doing them which shows how tough they really are -

Aerobic Kickboxing
Prodigy-Child replied to KickChick's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
im a competitive fighter therefor the cardio classes dont do much for me......it kinda helps with my endurance but my endurance is pretty high from all my running and other fitness activities i do the real work out for me comes from the stuff we do after cardio like the anaerobic work, strength work etc...... i focus more on anaerobic then endurance now because i really need to get those short bursts of energy to finish off my oponent in the closing seconds of the round endurance training is important as well but if you dont got the anerobic stuff in you will pay for it when you cant suck it up and finish off your opponent and you said you do your classes on wave masters? well wave masters are good but we have broken alot of them at our dojo from hitting them so hard.....and we only got one bag at he dojo but we barely use it because the coach of the canadian kickboxing/karate team said that 85% of our training should be focus pad work.......cuz focus pad work covers the simulation of fighting you get from sparring, the power you gain from bag work and technique you get from shadow sparring this is primarily one of the reasons why cuban boxers are so good......if you go to alot of the boxing gyms in cuba you will notice that alot of them do not have heavy bags.....but they just drill constantly on focus pad work so sorry if i blabbed on but i do not get a work out from "cardio" classes but rather from the anerobic, running, weights, sparring and focus pad work we do.........that and the grappling in jiu jitsu
