Martial Arts which incorporate weapons?
Prodigy-Child replied to Ahazmaksya's topic in Martial Arts Weapons
alot of filipino martial arts encorporate weapons in their training -
you can travel with weapons on a plane as long as they are not in your carry on luggage. cuz its not like u have access to your checked baggage when you are on the plane

most point karate fighters have pretty much no guard at all, the usually have their hands by their waists. thats ok i guess mainly because they barely hit eachother in point karate....its more a game of tag.......i now really like fighting point fighters because once i block and get passed their fancy kicks i make them EAT my hands, and if im fighting a point fighter i dont really kick to the head. mostly to the body, cuz when you connect a really good kick to a point fighters body it throws their kicks off completly

OOPS! Girls what do you think?
Prodigy-Child replied to SaiFightsMS's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
if you take a look at the dojo that i train at you will see there are not alot of women in the adult jiu jitsu class, the only girl who comes that is a regular and who i fight along side in the kickboxing circut is this brown belt who is around my age. alot of women just feel very uncomfortable with the jiu jitsu program at our dojo because there is alot of physical contact, like the grappling and all that other stuff..........i over heard one lady in the cardio kickboxing class saying "id never do that jiu jitsu stuff, just seeing those people roll around on the ground trying to kill eachother makes me think about being raped by some pig" i understand where that lady is coming from though........but still some students did take it a little personally -
i gotta drop 5lbs for a fight thats coming up in 3 weeks, i just found out about this yesterday from my coach.........any suggestions on how i should go about dropping the weight without starving myself im 135lbs and about 5'8

this one time i was grappling with this female and i grabbed her lapel and did a stomach throw (tomanagi) anyway my right foot slipped off her hip and her knee came crashing down into my groin and then her boobs came crashing into my face. it was quite the embarresment and my face was red as hell.....i apologized to her after class but i could not face her for a good month after the incident -
my jiu jitsu/judo sensei has done kendo......he has told me alot about the philosophy and the mental calmness and control of your emotions that you must posess in order to be successful

belts are used to hold your pants up so if u take it off wouldnt your pants fall down? i think so......not my weapon of choice but if you think you can fight with your pants at your ankles kick some ass!

the best thing to happen to the martial arts lately is people realizing the need for cross-training in a stand up and ground fighting style i remember back in the day when i was about 13 doing taekwon-do nobody ever did ANY cross training, we were strictly taekwon-do students and thats it. it was then when i realized that i should do some cross training. im 17 now and im glad i realized it then rather then now
