  1. well you cannot stop people from making more and more sanctioning bodies for their sport Ram. thats why my coach fights in alot of different sanctioning bodies and will soon have me fighting in different sanctioining bodies i used to fight for the WKA...but not anymore now im fighitng for the WPKA and hopefully later this year ill be fighitng for WAKO as long as u fight in as many different sactions as u can i think u will eliminate the danger of being an empty champion [ This Message was edited by: Prodigy-Child on 2002-03-17 08:51 ]
  2. for the best recovery after kicking you should lean upright......it also looks alot cleaner.......if you are a point fighter and you just wanna score one point and fade away i guess you can lean back but i think that kinda looks crappy so it depends on the person and what arena you are fighting in kickboxer - upright point-fighter - lean back
  3. i just have to say one thing........wave masters suck! heavy bags are the best to work on your power possibly the best drills you can do are with focus pad work....ive said this before and ill say it again.......focus pad drills works your power that you get from heavy bag training, speed and technique you get from shadow boxing and to an extent simulate fighting that you get from sparring..... this is primarily one of the reasons why cuban boxers are so good......they drill of focus pads for countless hours.....if u go to boxing gyms in cuba a majority of them dont have heavy bags because they just do so many hours of focus pad work that the heavy bag almost becomes obsolete....... if you can find a partner who knows how to hold the pads well thats great......other wise invest your money in a good heavy bag and hook it up in your basement........dont waste your money on a wave master.......
  4. yeah the American Armed Forces are notorious for leaving their soldiers behind and the Canadian Armed Forces are notorious for not equiping our men and women in uniform with the necessary gear to fight a good war.......we have some of the best soldiers, pilots and naval personelle in the world yet our forces can be a joke cuz we got no equipment to fight!!!!!! our government thinks that we can just hide behind the americans like the a little brother hiding behind his older much bigger brother..........pisses me off sometimes im glad i didnt join the army
  5. well there is a sanction called WAKO......World Association of Kickboxing organizations..... they are a very good santioning body, that and WPKA - World Profi Kickboxing Association but i can see what you are getting at Ram! this is primarily one of the reasons why kickboxing isnt getting into the olympics!
  6. i sure like #18!! hahahahaha
  7. let the ***** fry!!!
  8. HOW DO U KNOW THAT THE PEOPLE WHO WERE GRANTED VISAS ARE TERRORISTS? IS IT CUZ THEY ARE MIDDLE EASTERN? CUZ THAT WOULD BE A REALLY STUPID REASON TO GET ALL PISSED OFF!!
  9. I REMEMBER I WAS WATCHING VH1 AND I SAW THAT SHOW "BEFORE THEY WERE FAMOUS" OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT THERE WAS ONE SEGMENT WITH BRITNEY SPEARS SINGING AT THE AGE OF AROUND 11 OR 12.........AND ALL I GOT TO SAY IS WHO WAS CHOKING THE CAT?.......MY GOD SHE SOUNDED HORRIBLE - NO WONDER SHE LIP SYNCS HER SONGS I HIGHLY DOUBT IT IS HER VOICE ANYWAY ON THE CD I CANNOT STAND BOY BANDS OR BRITNEY SPEARS.........THEY JUST IRRITATE ME.....ITS ALL MANUFACTURED MUSIC
  10. DO I LIKE THE NHL? HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!! IM SO THERE!!!! GO LEAFS GO!!!!!
  11. what do u expect ram,,,,,,kickboxing gets screwed over on tv all the time! i remember one time there was gonna be some muay thai on tv but they scrapped it for some cheesy sport aerobics competition
  12. hahahahahahahahh she deserved it!
  13. im not comparing arts i just said that the thai fighters beat the taekwon-do stylists thats all!
  14. is somebody pulls a knife on you and makes a slashing, stabbing, thrusting action they are trying to kill you so u might as well try to defend from it if u know the defenses
  15. a buddy of mine trained at a muay thai place and the taekwon-do dojang down the street challeged them.........needless to say that the taekwon-do guys got their ass handed to them!
  16. in jiu jitsu class we learn alot of knife and baton defenses..... they are pretty kool and quite useful we also learn gun defenses as well.....but we should only use them if we know the person is gonna shoot us..
  17. you americans and your guns! doesnt anybody just kick the crap outta anybody anymore?
  18. the weather is getting really wierd here in canada one day it is like -5*C the next day its 18*C which is quite warm for march in canada anyway on saturday it was 18*C......it was a really nice to feel all that warmth......but now its back down into the minuses.........im kinda pissed i wish i was in miami right now!
  19. some people have a weaker nose lining then others...........its like how some people bruise less then others im one of those fortunant people who dont bruise at all!!!!
  20. yeah i think a good kickboxer could beat a good boxer because the kickboxer has more tools in their arsenal......it all depends on the person as well
  21. ya know belts dont really mean anything to me anymore.......im a green belt in jiu jitsu right now and its not really a big deal being a competitive kickboxer as well i have fought other kickboxers who have black belts in their base style being karate or taekwon-do most of the time after winning come and loosing some i just dont care anymore about belts.....i just go out there and fight before when i found out that they had a black belt in a style before i was gonna fight them it really got me a bit intimidated but now i dont care how are your feelings about belts?
  22. im not one of the know it all youngins i believe we can all learn from eachother no matter what sex age or rank you are but i just want to practice a technique "all the way" i cant do it because the older people cant handle it due to a bad back or whatever........i just feel it is effecting my learning and progress as a martial artist i am one of the 3 youngest people in the adult jiu jitsu program at our dojo.....our sensei splits all the young people up and makes us go with the older people i just get frustrated thats all.....
  23. i guess my stand up fighting skills are pretty good since im a competitive kickboxer......if a guy picked a fist fight with me i think i could take him out in the first few hits on the ground........i am really confident with my chokes..... i got in a fight one time with a guy and i back mounted him and landed a figure four choke on him i held on to him till he passed out and i took off
  24. if they dont wanna tap that is their problem......when they end up with a broken arm cuz they wouldnt tap out from a arm bar or whatever you slapped on that is their problem thats all!!!!!
  25. i know the martial arts are for everyone and i love practicing with people of all ages dont take this the wrong way but.... i do get a little annoyed when i am doing drills with an older practicioner and they do not want me to throw them because they are afraid of throwing out their back ....... i find it quite hard to learn when i cannot do a full throw to see what it is like another situation is when i was practicing with this one older lady.....we were just practicing some wrist locks and she did not want me to apply it on her because she has "sensitive wrists" then when it was her turn she decided crank my wrist almost to the point of fracture i am 17 so im a youngin and i heal quickly so now i will only practice with people my age because i feel i am being short changed practicing with the older folk no offence to the older people here
