Usually nothing. When I'm working, I'll just suck down a few cups of coffee. Then I eat something light, like a cereal bar, at break time. Weekends, I wait till lunch time to eat (I sleep later on weekends). I just can't eat when I first get up. It makes my tummy queezy.

My funniest sparring moment....
karatekid1975 replied to bushido_man96's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Ok, how come I didn't see this thread? Anyways, my funniest sparring moment was when I lost my pants ... yes it's true. I posted this somewhere else on KF, but it's funny, so I'll do it again. It was sparring night. We would spar then change partners. Then spar again. We kept going until everyone sparred everyone. Well I sparred this one kid. He's about half my age. Quick little bugger. But I got a few good shots on him ..... except when I went to kick him in the head or something. He moved in and I stepped back ... problem was ... his foot was on my pant leg and I moved. Down they went. I yanked them up and kept going. But my instructor saw it. He said, "You can stop to fix your "equipment" ya know." I just turned red. -
Is anyone doing any home improvement projects?

No problem, bud. Keep up the good work. I just got something for Christmas from one of my friends (got it late on New Years, but that's ok). She got me an asian looking candle holder. It's beautiful. I'm going to put that in my asian themed bathroom. It matches nicely (then I'll make her go to class with me, right Heidi ). My next project (other than the livingroom) will be making my better half get rid of his "pack-rat" stuff .... it drives me nuts! -
We have a Dell at home. But the poor thing is old. We did up grade a lot of things, but it's "struggling" to stay alive LOL. The last thing we bought for it was a new video card, but I think it's too powerful for the PC LOL. We bought a sound card before that, which is working good for my music stuff, thank goodness.

COFFEEE!!! I got coffee from my sister for Christmas. I moved to NY from NJ and I can't get the local coffee here that they had in NJ. So she bought it for me as a present. Thanks sis! You're the best. It's the best coffee in the world (to me, that is).

My last concert was Linkin Park. That was a couple of years ago though.

How many martial arts have you taken?
karatekid1975 replied to Patrick's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I have trained in two main arts. Tang Soo Do, then I moved and I studied TKD at two different dojangs. All three dojangs mixed in other arts into the curriculum, but I didn't officially train in them, except for jujitsu and Judo. And I dabbled in a couple of others, but not long enough to count them. Now I'm just getting back into TKD, sort of. So I would count three. TSD, TKD, and Jujitsu. -
We have a little over three and a half hours to go here in NY. And in case I don't get back in here tonight, Happy New year all! Don't drink and drive. Have a safe and Happy New Year.

That's because you guys are so dang busy. But you guys did a lot to that house. It looks good so far. -
I had a paper route when I was like 12 or something for pocket change. But my first real job was at KFC when I was 17 or 18. I wasn't vegetarian then, but I did get food poisoning from the very KFC that I worked for twice (the first time I was working there. The second time, I was just a customer years later). I haven't eatin at any KFC since.

We redid both bathrooms. The upstairs one, we just repainted. But the downstairs one had to have the ugly wallpaper riped down, the walls painted, and we put new tiles down on the floor, and the cabinet rebuilt (new doors and a paint job). It is actually an "asian themed" bathroom now. We have a chinese scroll and a Korean picture in there with asian looking fake flowers in there. I would love to do our living room next. It is so dark in there. The one wall is dark wood. I'd like to white-wash that wall, and paint the rest. -
On my days off, like I said, I sleep late. I could go to bed early and still sleep late. I think sleeping is one of my favorite hobbies LOL. But my honey has a furry alarm. The dog. He doesn't bother me (thank goodness) in the morning, but he get's him up by 7am. If my honey goes on a business trip, then the dog gets me up by "thumping" the bed with his paw or sticking his cold nose in my face LOL

What (is)are your New Year's resolution(s)?
karatekid1975 replied to Protagonist's topic in General Chat
Same here. I haven't done any training (regularly) since June (other than here and there at a couple of dojangs trying them out). I need to get back into it. But I believe my new instructor can do that for me (kick me in the rear-end to do so, that is). I know her, so she can help with that. And I would like to get better at snowboarding, also (if we ever get snow .... gggrrrrr). -
Thanks all

We travel by car. One reason is that we live in the middle of no-where. The buses don't come out this far. So if we didn't drive, we'd be stuck. As far as traveling to see family in other states, we usually drive. But my boyfriend flies a lot for work (about once every other month). I never flew before, though.

I wake up with an alarm. It doesn't matter how early or late I go to bed, I still like my sleep. So if I don't set the alarm, I won't get up in time.

I don't eat before class. Or at least, nothing heavy. I just eat a powerbar or something like that. If I eat anything other than that, I will puke. BUT I do have to have a little something in my tummy for energy. It's not a good idea to have Korean food the night before class (specially Kimchi). It makes your sweat stink, even with a shower before class (must be because of the garlic .... Korean food uses a lot of garlic).
-
Anyways, about details. I am finally with an instructor that I always wanted to train with. My honey and I will open a school in the next 3 to 5 years.
-
Yummmmm. Me too. But I also love Korean food, and Thai on top of the above. I also love to cook asian food. Heidi, you would love my homemade Vietnamese Hot and sour mushroom soup (don't worry, it's vegan ).

Mine is the sign-on screen for my email. The first thing I do when I get on the PC is check my email, so I made it my homepage. My next choice would be Google. Because I like looking up stuff or finding recipes.
-
I don't subscribe to any, but I do read Black belt and TKD Times on occasion. I would like to subscribe to the one vegetarian mag that Heidi gave to me a couple months back. It had really good recipes in it.

The big 'what did you all get for christmas' topic
karatekid1975 replied to Havoc88's topic in General Chat
I got a chopper (for veggies) from my mom, a cool Japanese soup set from Heidi (I love to cook), and I got coffee from my sister (coffee that I can't get here in NY) .... yummmm. Plus candy from my Grandmom. My honey got me a gift certificate to Ski Company (for snowboarding stuff) .... YAY! I also got the odds-and-ends from my boyfriends family. Some stuff I probably won't use, except the sheets that I got for the bed, and pot holders. Don't tell him I said that LOL. But it's the thought that counts. -
I don't eat many sweets. But as a kid, I loved Snickers candy bars.

I play drums. Not like I want to (I mean, time wise), but I'm working on that.
