  1. I took both. No longer in either one, but I liked my first dojang better of any I trained at (TSD). Not just for the style, but it just fit me (the dojang itself). I just haven't found that "spark" that my first dojang had with me in any other place.
  2. Good post Jiffy. I have learned a lot from MA. The disipline helped me keep a job more than a year. I have more confidence, self esteem, ect. My temper was tamed LOL. Anyways, I am still going to practice some stuff on my own. It's not the end of MA for me. I just have to find the right dojang (I've been having trouble with that since I moved to NY). Not that the ones I practiced at were totally bad, just not for me.
  3. Ok, it's "official." I met with the manager of my old dojang. I bought out the contract, and had an "exit interview." The new dojang, I just told them that I will be out for a while. It is kinda sad to leave "officially." But I may return to training one day. I may just break out the old tapes, pop them in the VCR, and train a bit here and there to see if my "itch" returns to go back to training. We'll see.
  4. Hehehehe RUNS!!! LOL. Just kiddin. I'm not going anywhere. I have too many KF buds. KF is my home. Fear not, my friends
  5. hehehe yep, that's me That's what 4 years on KF will do for ya hehehehe
  6. Thanks for the support all. No, I won't leave KF. And yes, What I have learned from MA will always be with me, so I can always practice forms or something if I get the "itch" or get bored LOL.
  7. Thanks guys. I hope if I do come back it returns that quick, Red J. I just feel like I'm blowing everything (technique-wise) that I worked for. But it seems too much like work now, instead of fun. So, this may be the best for now.
  8. Hiya all. This may be a shock to some folks, but I have decided to bow out of MA. It's been a long time coming. I havn't trained that much since febuary (15 classes at most). The new dojang was/is nice. They train like I want, but I just lost the passion for MA. Finding this new dojang was an attept to get that back, but it didn't work. I think the best thing is to let it go. Maybe someday the passion will return. But, for now, I'll just cheer on my other half who is still in it. I'll still be around on KF to visit my KF buds, though.
  9. I hate them, too. As it was said by you guys, it restricts my kicks, and makes me sweat a lot! Now that I'm in ITF (no need for them), I am SSSOOOOO happy But the kids tend to wear them. It's actually a choice that my instructor gives us. We can wear them if we want, or we don't. He leaves it up to us. I still have mine, but I don't wear it anymore. I wear just the shin and arm pads most of the time. I wear my head gear if I spar my instructors (they are head hunters! LOL).
  10. No kids here, but I helped raise two of my oldest nephews (Matt 22, Eric 17). Plus I have three other nephews .... Jason 5, Justen 3, and Alex 6 mo.
  11. I heard bikers do, as in Lance Armstrong and those guys. It's supposed to help with speed or something. I'm female, so I shave my legs anyways. But I'm weird. I'm one female that can shave twice a week and still be fairly smooth. Some shave everyday to get like me. So I can't think of what guys might have to do.
  12. I agree. I recently switched to ITF. BUT when I did WTF, we did keep our hands up. At least at the dojang I was at. If we didn't, we got yelled at. So it depends on the dojang/instructor. I did drop my hands sometimes to "fake" people "in." Open target ... ah I'll hit ya there ... Not. I would counter it. Or, with the kids, I'd purposely "give" them a target by holding my hands above my head. Now that I'm in ITF, I can't drop my hands at all. Not even to "fake" an open target.
  13. Are you sure its the same GM Park? GM Park, Hae Man is the VP of the World Chung Do Kwan. I think the GM Park that you're talking about is a different gentlemen. Actually, I'm not sure, but I know the GM is "Park." I'll have to check on that tomorrow.
  14. Like I mentioned before, my hardest was my 1st gup in WTF TKD. But I switched to ITF. I have 11 (well 10 now) forms to learn. Plus the rest of the curriculum. Mr. Dennis wants me to test in January for BB. I think this will be my hardest test ever.
  15. That is so cool! We are affiliated with GM Park. Small world. Is he really that hard? And I will definitely check out Mr Kim's vids. Thanks man
  16. Oh wow! I liked those. But you have to register with a credit card
  17. Oh man! Lucky you. I wanted to learn the Palgwes, too. But my dojang does the Chang Hon set. Which I do like, also.
  18. Dang! I looked on those sites and can't find a cool snowboarding one. I would change mine if I could find one like that.
  19. I would use anything that works LOL, and understand it. I'm not a big computer geek, but I like stuff to work right when I do use it. I know how to fix some stuff (software), but hardware isn't my bag. That's my honey's job.
  20. You're right I still want to retain the taekeuks, so I still practice those.
  21. I voted ITF, but I did WTF for 4 years, and recently switched.
  22. When I did TSD, I was taught that "Ahp chagi" was front kick. Different terms for different dojangs, I'm guessing.
  23. stoneheart, no this new dojang does not use the sine wave. And yes, I found that chun moo (sp?) is very similar to pyung ahn ee dan in parts. So I agree that he did take parts of the pyung forms (from what I saw anyways).
