  1. he he I feel you.I would take a Okinawan style,Japanese style,Korean style,Chinese Style,Thai Style.Filipino style,Indonesian style,Hawaiian/American style....I could go on for a long time.
  2. that last part sounds deep ,but what about the people that have mastered more than one style?
  3. Isn't this what the founder of Choy Lee Fut did? Also what about learning from one sifu and learning from one sensei? Is that also frowned upon?
  4. well I heard that Oyama Sensei wasn't against taking things from other arts,so they might of borrowed it from them.Hey I've read that kyokushin fighters are allowed to do low kicks and groin kicks is there any truth to this for regular practitioners?
  5. so how does the diet to get big fro sumo wrestlers go?
  6. ok well there were 5 in total.(not in any specific order) 1.Italian 2.Russian 3.Chinese 4.Colombian 5.Indian
  7. Well I'm going back to Houston Monday morning . The only thing is that I heard that there is a food and gas shortage , but my family is going to buy food here in San Antonio before leaving for Houston. As for gas , my honda has a full tank since I didn't bring it.Anyways I live close to Westside high school,as a matter of fact that's were I graduated from, and I train nearby also.As for H.C.C.,it's good that it's closed till wednesday because I still havent done my homework .It's ok that we wont have a holiday because I already have had a unplanned vacation.Anyways kicks looks like things are getting better for you with your new school,at least there has been some good from all this mess.I know there is still much to fix,but everybody in Houston has been very positive in helping for the most part,I wish you luck with your life and new school. 8. hey I know that diet is a big part of training, but do you guys have a ceratin diet or do you just eat whatever to get big?
  9. Some time ago I was going to enroll in th wing chun program at my school, and the guy was telling me a very similar thing. To add to your comment,he said that it turned more sport and flashyness because of the government and the amount of control they have on them.He said it's not what it 8used to be.As for his style,he said that it hasn't been widely spread and that it comes from the southern shaolin temple. Also that it hasn't been corrupted by the government and other things.
  10. ohh ok,so before that it's just sensei?
  11. posting here,or that kung fu website?
  12. I would too , but it's too much money for me
  13. how come traditional kung fu frowns on learning more than one style from more than one teacher?I used to go to McDojo/McKwoon that had similar rules to that, but it was a extremely sport oriented fake kung fu school.
  14. I think menjo knows what I meant. When I said hardcore I was saying it as another word for crazy or ludicrus.Sorry if I offended anybody.
  15. I think everything is ok because the news said that Houston wasn't really hit hard, and friends told me it was just wind in the area.I guess if the hurricane didn't change it's path Houston would of been hit.I guess we don't have it as hard as Luisiana, good luck to you kicks,it sounds like hell on earth for you.As for returning the news said not to because of traffic, gas, food, and etc. Hopefully I'll be back monday ,but I'm still not going to H.C.C. . I hope they have classes at my dojo on monday though. The only good thing though is that it has been like an unplanned vacation here in San Antonio.I've been touring the town so far. Thanks everybody for your posts.By the way P.A.L. are you from Houston also?
  16. isn't steve demasco that guy who was the capoeira techer in only the strong?
  17. Hi everybody,it's me Goju_boi.Right now I'm posting from a Holidai Inn.I had to evacuate and leave Houston.I really hate it.How was it for the other people that evacuated so far or if you stayed?I just hope that it isn't as worse as Luisiana.I'll keep posting whenever the computer is free here.Wish me luckHope my dojo is ok,I was about to start kobudo.
  18. even better do palm strikes. Those are hardcore.
  19. I know they could hold their own. Those people are heavily conditioned.
  20. I agree with giang hu.Because before I started training at my current school I was reluctant to even try out a class, but now I see this place has more thaan what meets the eye.
  21. haven't heard of this is it new?tell us about it?
  22. "it will be another long post for me to write" go ahead I'm just waiting for this hurricane to blow away so I have a lot of free time. "However, most Chinese Martial art will teach you Chin Nan (small Chin-nan to be specific), aside from the main art" my style of karate has that.I guess it's because it has a heavy chinese influence.
  23. "i think both could be effective it just depends on which of the two styles you feel you are suited best for and works for you cause you are the one who's gonna have to use it in a serious situation" yep, that's what it really comes down to
  24. so you moved from one goju-ryu dojo to another?
