  1. I totally agree with elbows_and_knees here. For example let's ask why would anybody learn Capoeira knowing that it's not good for mixed martial arts or anything like that?Well because it looks good,it conditions your body,it's very fun,and etc.Sure Muay Thai is a better street and competition effective art, but theres arts for every interest. For example you (thaiwarrior)don't really like chinese martial arts according to your previous posts, but those are other peoples ultimate styles.
  2. well I think more aikido practitioners would be in it.As well as more traditional arts practitioners
  3. well andrew does have a point, but I didn't want to say it because mizoryu looks really into learning this and I didn't want to discourage somebody from learning martial arts.Personally I think if you want to fight with your hands in a open position, hitting with the sides would be better. For example doing a ridgehand to the neck.
  4. muay thai is freaking kewl, but it would be great if there was a good amount of both.I guess it's like saying that most Karate schools around were Goju Ryu,and you wanted to experience Kyokushin also, but you couldn't because it's rare.So what I'm saying there should be a lil bit of evrything, that way you can keep things interesting.
  5. well I guess aggresiveness is good ,but without anger in the fight.
  6. wasn't the reason for these societies because martial arts was banned over there or something?
  7. man these old school kung fu movies are hard to find at the store,I havent seen this anywhere I've gone to.
  8. so it does have mostly punches.Does it have any grappling?
  9. mua ha ha ha ha ha ha!
  10. yes it does have training sessions, when you through the career mode before a fight you have three chances to train. You can train in sparring, defense, combinations, etc. As for finding it I'm guessing that you will have a hard time, because when I went there was only that copy and used.I havent seen it anywhere else since then. One more thing if you want to get it online go here: http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2F&fkr=1&from=R8&satitle=K-1+world+grand+prix good luck
  11. well I've heard taekwon do practitioners say they like to do all these fancy kicks, but when it comes down to sparring or a real situation, those movements are not used at all.I guess what I'm saying is that theres no harm in doing them for fun,but for a real situation use what works.By the way I just saw the capoeira movie "only the strong" on the spanish chanel,I was very impressed.
  12. well that's one way to stretch, but theres oh so many more ways to stretch that will help you out too.Because if that's all you practice, you won't get all the benefits of stretching that you can achieve with knowledge of it.
  13. well your lucky enough to have one that close to begin with, but don't be dissapointed theres a lot of styles that use finger tip strikes. If you could tell us what's in your area then we can see which is the best.
  14. well syberghost if you look at your schools logo on the website you will see that it's american kenpo
  15. so pinapple being that hawaii has many cultures, does it have any latin americans besides brazilians? For example mexicans, puerto ricans, salvadoreans, etc. Also how big would you say is the latin american population in the state of hawaii?just curious
  16. what's with the face?
  17. oh ok,I guess I'm not up to par with my japanese terminology
  18. well I really can't say much about your old style, but kenpo is pretty cool. What style of kenpo is it?
  19. well actaully I've heard that hapkido has the taekyon kicks,so in a way it did survive
  20. hawaii has a lot of martial arts?
  21. lol yeah,I can go all the way down, but slowly and gently
  22. what's the difference between sanbon and ippon kumite?
  23. well me personally,I find that free sparring is the most enteraining and usefull
  24. well yeah, but I wouldn't go as far as saying that martial artist are trained like cops.Well for the most part.
  25. well not being over agressive goes into any style, because if you let aggresion get to you.You will lose sight of what's going on around you
