  1. Kiss of the dragon as good 2 i saw it the other day.But that cant beat fist of legend. And as for hero i dont know wut was the big hype for it.It was a good movie but I woldnt say it was his best.
  2. so is judo, japanese jujutsu, and other grappling arts like this also?
  3. Just curious, how come it takes paople forever to get a black belt in bjj?I went to check out a school once(the instructors had left) and the highest ranking student took him 4 yr. for his purple belt.By that time in a lot of styles I know u would be a blackbelt already or pretty close if u kept up with your training. So yeah what makes this art so long to master?
  4. true,I guess youre right. That was how my old Mcdojo treated the students, they made us sign up for 6 months but after that u either had to sign a 3 yr. contract or look else where.I guess I was just impressed by this new schools credentials.I think I'll search for another kwoon, but I'll still take the karate lessons there though.
  5. what do u mean by NAPMA business principles? Also to clear things up a bit it gets cheaper once u decide to join for a longer period of time.If after u take the 5 week course and u decide to join the rates are like this for a 6 month contract its $88,for a 12 month contrat its $78,for a 24 month contract its $73.Then if the sifu decides that u are qualified enough to continue the art theres a 36 month contract for $88 a month. And classes are only 2 times a week except for the people in the 36 month contract, they get 3 times a week.
  6. Hey I have a qustion for all of the wing chun/wing tsun/ving tzun/etc people. I take Karate at my school but they also offer W.C. and I really want to take it so we went there on one of the nights it's offered. But when the instructor told us about it i was surprised because it was $150 for five weeks(that was with discount since i take karate there) it came with the uniform and some books. Then if u like it u can sign up for more(but long term contract). After that time is over u can only stay if the sifu see's u know your stuff and he want's u to continue(and another long term contract). THEN after that the grandmaster has to evaluate u for instructoship and discipleship. And all of this comes with all thesebooks they even give u books on how to open your own school and how to operate it. Wut I'm asking is do u think its worth it?Because the guy who instructed the instructor is Benny Meng who appears in Kung Fu/tai chi and Sifu Mengs instructor is Garret Gee.And I guess I can be sure they know each other cuz Ive seen pics of them together and he is listed at their website. ohh and the style is Hung fa yi wing chun kung fu , i havent heard about it too much so yeah I'm not sure if i should invest my time and money in that? my school https://www.samuraimartialsports.com and the organization https://www.hungfayi.com
  7. what's the best Jet li movie ever and why?I would personaly pick Fist of legend because u just can't beat those fight scenes(ummm unless u use wire fu i guess)
  8. I'm just curious, I just finished my first week of Goju ryu Karate training and so far it's been pretty good. When i started the Sensei and Sempai saw what I know cuz I had previous experience (unfortunately from a Mcdojo) . After that all I've learned is blocks and punches from my fist being chambered , one new kick (cuz I knew the other ones he asked me to show him),stances, foot work, and my first kata (which I'm still trying to get right).I guess what I'm asking is , is it supposed to be like that because I'm a begginer or what? What else should I expect ? When am I going to learn new punches and kicks?WHen am I going to spar? When am I going to learn self defense applications?, ..... etc. thanx in advance
  9. Don't worry, in my old school there was this man that was in his seventies when he started training. That shows youre not too old.Good luck!
