  1. oh ok,but in total your whole system has 26 katas?
  2. I don't know if that sums it up,that's why I'm asking. Also my uncle did a lot of weapons that sound like weapons in kobudo, and I know that hapkido doesn't have that many weapons and weapons that he used. Also one very big and weird thing. He would also have all the martial arts terminology in japanese and he studied korean arts, so would it Moo sool kwan have any links between okinawan martial arts?
  3. "but they have been known to make many other innovative techniques as well." for example?
  4. well yeah,but I still learned something
  5. lol,I guess so,but I wil still give my respect to practitioners that aren't there because they can be very good.
  6. Hmm ok , I guess,But that doesn't explain why it was named indochina?
  7. so pralgo for example they would have the practitioner position themself differently to execute the kick?
  8. Igm ,Andrew is correct on this one.I used to train in western kickboxing and that's a cross. Also if you want to further verify it start a new thread in the kickboxing area of the website so you can see that a cross is what andrew mentioned.
  9. well said.It would also help us if he said what exactly he practices so that someone of that style an give some pointers.
  10. that's one reason I don't really like having the colored belt system in karate.
  11. Man do I feel stupid for saying teleport.anyways maybe the reason for the very little hip movements at my school is because sadly all we do is point sparring.
  12. well be agressive yet not in an angry way.focus your eyes on their shoulders or chest,as that shows wich way they move.Warm up and stretch.Practice on a punching bag or mitts. anyways does your kwoon have a website? That would help everybody here know better as to what you do.
  13. are you talking about steven segal?
  14. don't you have to practice plyometrics so you can build that explosive power to jump high enough?
  15. hmm, I think I got it. Is this a kyokushin move or did some brazilian guy come up with it?
  16. so by similar to korean arts you mean heavy with kicks and I'm guessing flashy movements (depending on the style or what it practices)
  17. i'll have to ask my Sifu...to tell you the truth, I kind of feel a little ignorant right now ... Thank you for your help! I'll find out in the dojo tomorrow. why are you calling your school a dojo?If you train in Shaolin(a chinese art),then you should call it a kwoon as it is the proper name.
  18. well by teleport I meant making it ovious that you are going for a certain move.
  19. well I tried it and ended up with a weird roundkick that's kind og going down.Did I do it right by the sound of my post or what do you think I messed up on?
  20. well in karate we don't put to much hip or twisting motion becuase that is supposed to teleport your movements, but when I used to do kickboxing it was nothing but hip/twisting motions for hooks und uppercuts.
  21. somewhat.Theres Northern and Southern.also theres styles that came from shaolin like Choy Lee Fut.
  22. What is it?I asked my uncle what style he practiced when he was younger and he said Hapkido mixed with Moo sool kwan. I know what Hapkido is ,but have no idea as to what Moo sool kwan is.I asked him but he doesn't exactly know either
  23. oh ok,now I get the French part, but why was it called IndoChina?
  24. Well I really don't know Vietnamese history.Anyways can you tell me why it was called that?
