  2. elbows_and_knees what styles do these countries military use?Or is it just a mixture of techniques to use in war situations?
  3. There was also another special that I heard of , but didnt's see because I have an antenna television. It was the discovery channels special on the top 10 martial arts.Does anybody know what styles they put on their list and in what order?
  4. I thought that "knock down kumite" sounded familiar.Isn't that how kyokushin spars or does their tournaments (knock down style)?
  5. "I'm sure they share a lot of techniques - front, side, round, back kicks, etc. isn't that so?" yes , but these styles like any other has different ways of doing things. Also okinawan karate and japanese karate do have similarities . but they have a lot of differences in them.
  6. yep,I tought that goju had a lot of katas, but in comparisson to your style and wado ryu we are small in kata.
  7. well theres nothing wrong without belonging to an organization, but when you see a school with an organization , theres a way better chance of it being legit. For example when I was looking for a new school (my last one was a McDojo) , I looked specially for a school with some form of organization in it that's known .Because the last one didn't have any organizations and it turned out to be a horrible school.I don't think it really affects you for the most part because parents and kids aren't really going to care about organizations, but adults and other people that know about martial arts probably are going to think twice about it.
  8. I'm guessing that will cost a lot of money right?
  9. lol, youre kind of late.Anyways, are there some real sumo clips on the net?
  10. Well honestly I don't know.I just know that he's been shippped to parris island South Carolina.I guess I will ask him when I write him a letter.
  11. for me to touch the floor in the V stretch took me less than a year.Anyways i find it weird that I'm a big 195 lb. guy that can outstretch most kids at my dojo and my instructor. Also I'm not that young for me to be that flexible(supposedly) because you guys say that people can be very flexible as kids.
  12. iron body trains your whole body , so palms are just a part of that.
  13. I guess, but later they were traveling there just so they could train and earn a black belt
  14. well I have noticed that more girls are what I would call "flexible" , but theres a lot of guys that are "flexible." As for me I consider myself flexible for a guy. From my dojo, theres only two guys that can do splits(including me ) , and only one girl that can drop a full split.
  15. Is the tekken movie going to be with real life actors or some 3D thing?
  16. that special was like watching a action movie in a way.entertainign.but unrealistic.
  17. Well I do about an hour a day,but i guess that's because in collge I have half the amount of classes I had in high school.Well sometimes I need more time, but that's if it's something big.
  18. lol,my cousin is going trough the same thing too in the marines.
  19. You said you thought Hapkido on used legs in strike mode. I thought I would say otherwise my friend well thanks to the other guys on this thread I found out that it has more than just kicks in striking mode.
  20. you can speak spanish fluently by level 2?That's really advanced
  21. Yeah I can honestly say that martial arts has changed the way I live also.
  22. that's pretty much how the kicking is at my dojo, but we seldomly kick high.Even if it's for flexibility we tend not to go that high, besides not too many people at my dojo have that flexibility for high kicks.Anyways , kata in kenpo has high kicks? Also when theres a kick in kenpo kata is it only the front kick like in Goju-Ryu?
  23. why would the Americans bann something when it's not even their country?
