  1. Or a trailer. Not to be funny, but I think you might want to consider leaving a cheap Bo at your dojo for practice. Since transporting it is obviously a problem. Do you have lockers at your dojo?
  2. I travel about 25 minutes to my current place.
  3. I agree with this. Why wait for them all to pile on you.
  4. There is a place that my friend goes to near 695 and Security BLVD. I know that's it's Wing Chun, but I'll have him ask his Sifu if he knows of any Tai Chi around here.
  5. Welcome!
  6. A good slow day at work. I love these days! HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE What is everyones plans for the weekend? My Wife and I are going to our annual Holloween party at my Uncles (always a good time). Poker, pool, air hocky, and lots of food is the main thing there. We're also going to go see the new Saw II movie. Should be a good one!
  7. I agree. This applies to any type of workout whether is be lifting, running, or a MA. The wrong technique can leave you in pain, or lack of accomplishment. Punching a bag correctly will leave your knucles a little sore, but what's are you doing? You're not punching air anymore. I believe if you correctly hit a target, injury shouldn't occur.
  8. I agree. In my dojo, you can see the attack coming. Even when you have 4 people surounding you. They go in different order, but you constantly know they're going to come up to you. I would like to find a school that does random attacks. Put you in a situation where you're not expecting it. Where a student is quietly picked by the instructor to go up and put another student into a situation where he is being attacked, and caught off guard. When you're sparring, you know an attack is coming. When you're walking around in a city, town, store, neighborhood, you don't know when it's going to happen, if it happens at all. This is just my take on my own training, so I agree with WW here. I don't think it's very effective, unless put into a real situation where the victim is surprised, not told "hey, take your stance, and prepare for an attack" My 0.2 cents
  9. Exactly. I asked my physical therapist (seeing him for my back) about this. He said it should be fine. My wife was a dancer, and she said she had that problem too at first until it was use to being stretched.
  10. I don't think it would be a bad idea.
  11. if its hurting, dont ignore it, thats how it will get worse. do some knee stretches, or stretches that streth parts near the knee, like the thighs. and ice it for like 20 minutes in the night. that may relieve some tension. if your knees are hurting on a regular basis, check a doctor, it could save you money and trouble in the long run. What's up Madd... how have your workouts been? Well, I wouldn't call it pain, it's more a soreness after being stretched (Should have worded that better)..... A lot of my muscle hurt (sorness) like hell the next day after I work them. I have had my physical therapist look at it, he says it's fine.
  12. Advanced white in TKD, but looking to change styles to Karate (Shorei-Ryu) White belt in life itself.
  13. Unfortunately, shortly after typing that, i got really friggin' hungry! Me too!
  14. Thank man. I'm doing everything in my power to get there today after work. Providing nothing else comes up in my life
  15. It's pretty scares in my area too. I'm going to keep checking. I want to make sure this time when I join, it's the right place!
  16. MasterH, Do you feel that those stretching machines are really worth is? Have they truely helped your hips, side kicks and splits?
  17. Is that style really that deadly?
  18. WOW... I forgot all about that movie. That is a good one.
  19. It's a lot less than that. More like a fraction of a second. By the time you hear the shot, it has already hit it's target, unless you have fired it straight into the air, or you're shooting a moutain from like 2 miles away. Someone standing 10 to even 100 yards away would have the bullet inside of them by the time the mind realizes the sound. Pretty scary though. Catching a bullet.... maybe with a vital organ, not with your hands.
  20. Yeah, I have found a few, but nothing that states ITF. Sorry dude!
  21. Well you didn't say that No problem bro!
  22. LOL... that too was a good movie. More on Chris Tuckers part, but hey... you cannot say that Jackie Chan movies are bad. He's is a great MA, and a pretty good actor/stunt dude
  23. Yup. Well, work has been taking up my schedule, but I was in an accident back in July, and I setup it again 3 weeks ago. It's getting better, but I have had to go back into physical therapy. By the time I get done with that, it's 7:pm, and I leave my house for work at 6:00am. I just want to be home. The only down side to this place, is that they don't train on the weekends. The dojo is closed. What sandwich place do you work at?
