  1. Adohan is correct. Seek advice from your physician
  2. I was stretching/kicking/practicing almost everyday. Still stretching, just not practicing. Looking for a different art to study
  3. Travel around your area. Take as many free lessons as you can. Look up info on the gym, and instructor if possible.
  4. Water is a must for weight gain. I drink about 2 gallons a day (roughly)
  5. Well, it's not that big of a deal. It goes on, it's just a little longer than normal. Oh yeah, I always wrap. Yep, I was thinking of not holding my fist so tight. I'm going to give it a shot tomorrow. Thanks WW!
  6. Too bad you don't teach around me. Sounds like an awesome deal! Congrats!
  7. Ahhh... the way it should be done. This sorts out all the people who are there to learn an art/self defense Vs. the "I'm a black belt, look what I can do" crowd. I could care less about a colored belt. You have an instructor and maybe some assistance... that's it. If a Blue belt can mop the floor with a Black belt, does the color matter anymore?
  8. Drinking is horrible for dieting, so I stay away from any type of alcohol. When I use to drink, I would never drive. It only takes one time, and your life is ruined. I know most people are going to think differently of me when I say this, but I feel no pity, but relieved when I hear that a drunk driver killed themself, and not someone else in an auto accident. Yes, it's sad but if that person wants to be a moron, and get behind the wheel, and take their own life, that's up to them. It's when they're fine, but they kill someone else (a child, someones loved one, YOUR loved one). Personally, I think the world would be a better place without the stuff. My opinion, and 0.2 cents.
  9. Well, I took everyones advice, and took them back. I picked up some wraps, and the Everlast pro series boxing gloves (12 oz). Gave my hands a couple days rest to heal. Went at the bag last night. Didn't feel a thing. The only complaints I have are... 1. It's a pain to get the second one on, after you have the first on 2. I noticed that my inner parts of my hands are feeling a little cramped after about 5 rounds. I'm going to give it a little while to maybe break them in. Hopefully I won't have to take these back. Other than that, it was an awesome workout, and no bloody/hurting knucles
  10. Really? I haven't gotten any pain form doing them, or bench pressing. Perhaps you should see your doctor about them. I get a popping noise every once in a while, but no pain. Two fingers you say? That might take me a while
  11. Was it called the "Dim Mak"?
  12. Oh yea! Now that is when it gets fun. Putting more weight in the front always adds to the ride! Just imagine doing pushups while doing a hand stand! Now that is some strong Shoulder/Tricep/Chest! At that point, you're pushing your entire bodyweight, plus the clothing you have on.
  13. You should be. 55 push ups is pretty damn good. I have only meet a few that can get past 50. I can only get to about 40, before I hit muscle failure
  14. Well, I can tell you, from watching my Uncle.... it's usually not the first move. My Uncle and I spar when we both have time (hasn't been in a while). I'll usually come at him with an attack, and he'll just act like nothing is going on, then WHAM! I'm on the ground. Can hurt too sometimes. One time he really put me down hard (not on purpose) and gave me one serious headache It's an awesome art, but hard to practice (IMO) without a partner
  15. Yeah, I wouldn't take the Karate, I would go for the Kung-Fu. Still thinking about it. Thanks for the info Goju!
  16. Show off
  17. Thanks for the advice WW! Gojo - It's nothing that I have against Wing chun, or Kung-fu for that matter, I just cannot seem to get into it. Not sure why. I might just try the Kung-Fu place for starters. If I only go 11 times a month, he will let me train for I think $5 a class. Two guys from my office train there, and both seem to love it. Here's the link to the webpage. http://www.wingchunandkarateacademy.com/255450.html
  18. Good luck man. I'm sure you'll do fine!
  19. I don't see the point to point sparring. A point hit will not help you in real life.
  20. That sucks! Rest up! Take the time now, and don't push yourself. You'll only prolong the recovery.
  21. Yeah, I want to hear about this when it's done. That is one hard test
  22. Watched Fist of Legand last night. Good movie over all. The fights seens were incredible. Longer than your average fight seen. A must see for $7 at Bestbuy
