  1. i know Italy is amoung 10 best countries in karate
  2. i think it does, when i touch along with my shin ,i can feel some hard botton shape areas sticking out of normal bone structure, i think when we hit shin to shin we may actually create small cracks and when they healed they got build up. right now i have a very painfull spot on my shin which i think is smashed i hope when it heals it become a hard botton. i also think keep hitting bone on bone may kill small nerves and as a result we wouldn't feel the pain that much about the brusies , i don't know why but every time you get less in same spot.
  3. Texas law on self-defense is codified in the Texas Penal Code (http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/statutes/pe.toc.htm). Below are excepts from certain Texas statutes that set forth the level of lawful force that may be used to protect yourself, third persons, your property, or the property of others. A. The General Self-Defense Statute Chapter 9.31 of the Texas Penal Code is the general self-defense statute. It provides as follows: (a) Except as provided in Subsection (b), a person is justified in using force against another when and to the degree he reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to protect himself against the other's use or attempted use of unlawful force. (b) The use of force against another is not justified: (1) in response to verbal provocation alone; (2) to resist an arrest or search that the actor knows is being made by a peace officer, or by a person acting in a peace officer's presence and at his direction, even though the arrest or search is unlawful, unless the resistance is justified under Subsection ©; (3) if the actor consented to the exact force used or attempted by the other; (4) if the actor provoked the other's use or attempted use of unlawful force, unless: (A) the actor abandons the encounter, or clearly communicates to the other his intent to do so reasonably believing he cannot safely abandon the encounter; and (B) the other nevertheless continues or attempts to use unlawful force against the actor; or (5) if the actor sought an explanation from or discussion with the other person concerning the actor's differences with the other person while the actor was: (A) carrying a weapon in violation of Section 46.02; or (B) possessing or transporting a weapon in violation of Section 46.05. © The use of force to resist an arrest or search is justified: (1) if, before the actor offers any resistance, the peace officer (or person acting at his direction) uses or attempts to use greater force than necessary to make the arrest or search; and (2) when and to the degree the actor reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to protect himself against the peace officer's (or other person's) use or attempted use of greater force than necessary. (d) The use of deadly force is not justified under this subchapter except as provided in Sections 9.32, 9.33, and 9.34. B. Use of Deadly Force in Self-Defense Chapter 9.32 of the Texas Penal Code explains when deadly force is justified in self-defense. Section 9.32 provides that: (a) A person is justified in using deadly force against another: (1) if he would be justified in using force against the other under Section 9.31; (2) if a reasonable person in the actor's situation would not have retreated; and (3) when and to the degree he reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary. (A) to protect himself against the other's use or attempted use of unlawful deadly force; or (B) to prevent the other's imminent commission of aggravated kidnapping, murder, sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault, robbery, or aggravated robbery. (b) The requirement imposed by Subsection (a)(2) does not apply to an actor who uses force against a person who is at the time of the use of force committing an offense of unlawful entry in the habitation of the actor. Chapter 9.33 of the Texas Penal Code explains when a person is justified in using force to defend a person other than himself/herself: Chapter 9.33 provides: A person is justified in using force or deadly force against another to protect a third person if: (1) under the circumstances as the actor reasonably believes them to be, the actor would be justified under Section 9.31 or 9.32 in using force or deadly force to protect himself against the unlawful force or unlawful deadly force he reasonably believes to be threatening the third person he seeks to protect; and (2) the actor reasonably believes that his intervention is immediately necessary to protect the third person. C. Use of Force to Protect Property Chapter 9.41 of the Texas Penal Code explains when people can use force to protect their property (as opposed to persons). Chapter 9.41 explains that: (a) A person in lawful possession of land or tangible, movable property is justified in using force against another when and to the degree the actor reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to prevent or terminate the other's trespass on the land or unlawful interference with the property. (b) A person unlawfully dispossessed of land or tangible, movable property by another is justified in using force against the other when and to the degree the actor reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to reenter the land or recover the property if the actor uses the force immediately or in fresh pursuit after the dispossession and: (1) the actor reasonably believes the other had no claim of right when he dispossessed the actor; or (2) the other accomplished the dispossession by using force, threat, or fraud against the actor D. Use of Deadly Force to Protect Property Chapter 9.42 of the Texas Penal Code explains when deadly force is justified to protect one’s property. Chapter 9.42 explains that: A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property: (1) if he would be justified in using force against the other under Section 9.41; and (2) when and to the degree he reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary: (A) to prevent the other's imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, theft during the nighttime, or criminal mischief during the nighttime; or (B) to prevent the other who is fleeing immediately after committing burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime from escaping with the property; and (3) he reasonably believes that: (A) the land or property cannot be protected or recovered by any other means; or (B) the use of force other than deadly force to protect or recover the land or property would expose the actor or another to a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury. E. Use of Force to Protect the Property of Others Chapter 9.43 of the Texas Penal Code explains when a person is justified in using force to protect the property of another person. Chapter 9.43 explains that: A person is justified in using force or deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property of a third person if, under the circumstances as he reasonably believes them to be, the actor would be justified under Section 9.41 or 9.42 in using force or deadly force to protect his own land or property and: (1) the actor reasonably believes the unlawful interference constitutes attempted or consummated theft of or criminal mischief to the tangible, movable property; or (2) the actor reasonably believes that: (A) the third person has requested his protection of the land or property; (B) he has a legal duty to protect the third person's land or property; or © the third person whose land or property he uses force or deadly force to protect is the actor's spouse, parent, or child, resides with the actor, or is under the actor's care. F. Definition of an “Illegal knife” in Texas Chapter 46.01 of the Texas Penal Code (http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/statutes/pe.toc.htm) defines an “Illegal knife” as a: (A) knife with a blade over five and one-half inches; (B) hand instrument designed to cut or stab another by being thrown; © dagger, including but not limited to a dirk, stilletto, and poniard; (D) bowie knife; (E) sword; or (F) spear.
  4. i hate it when it gets too personal, then we start to talk about everything but training, some times i leave them alone and start to practice myself so they mat realise we are in a training time. the best place i've ever been about this ,was a BJJ class i knew everybody just by last name there was no chit chat at all, 60 min unstop training.
  5. i think working with weights also increase your speed.
  6. No he won't pass you, this kind of skipping doesn't happen everytime, it's kinda normal,he was a 9th kyu for 6 months to refresh his memory it didn't mean he was a 9th kyu, you may know more kata but he also has the knowledge of style. i tested as white belt in a shitoryu dojo after 6 months and they gave me 3th kyu while my total test score was like 80 many more scored around 84 and passed one level. i didn't even do the kata in thier way, i did it my way and sensei asked the pannel judges to score my kata only based on technique and timing but he told me that was the only time and there won't be anymore skipping rank, and i have to change all the katas to his way if i want the next belt, and that he will demot me if i don't fill the gap. remeber you are not competing against your sempai , you are competing yourself. i really think it was unfair for the other guy to get less than his original belt back. just trust your sensei judgment for time being.
  7. my uncle always shows me his belt and say" i got one too" and i always say" mine is longer" till next time he sees me again.
  8. not on order 1-OngBak (thai boxing) 2-fighter in the wind (kyukoshin) 3-Romu must die (jet li, kongFu) 4-times of hardship (bear fist boxing, charles Branson) 5-Seven samurais (classic) 6-best of the bests(TKD) 7-Drunken master I (jacki chen, drunken fist) 8-blood sport I ( 720spiningbackkick ryu)
  9. i would start SANCHIN right after kihons and kihon katas, it's simple to begin with yet hard to master. when i think about seisan it's longer than Naihanchi but it uses all the basic moves so i put it after sanchin, for the third i go with Naihanchi shodan. rest of arrangment looks fine, although i think Tomari passai should be before Kusanku dai. one more thing i would use a totaly narrow stance for Naihanchi shodan ( closer to sanchin dachi compare to kiba dachi) which serves our combative purpose better . i would take 3 or 4 yakosuku from Matsobayashi shorin ryu or shorinkan shorin ryu plus kaki drills from Goju ryu. for kumite i would go with Kyukoshin way but with head gears and open finger gloves, no padding on shin or mid section though.kumite can go to the ground , no stop.
  10. do you know the background (history) of Matayoshi Hakutsuru ? is it a Matsumura lineage or Gokenki? about sanchin i think if the body shakes in any move because of tension then it's too much. and i like Tomari passai too it can replace passai sho i guess.
  11. shito ryu has more than 40 katas , we gonna limit it to 10, and bring the essence of each style in.
  12. let's assume we wanna create a hybrid system based on okinawan Shuri and Naha-te, with 10 katas , 5 from each, what would you pickup, if you only know one of them then just bring your side of the deal, these are what i will bring in. the objective is to create a Combative style. shuri-te Naihanchi shodan is the heart of Shuri-te Pinan Godan good kata still easy to learn Passai sho good body change Kusanku dai rich in number of techniques Gojushiho start of white crane Naha-te Gekisai dai-ich good starting point Sanchin heart of Naha-te either softer form or Miyagi version Anan strong kata with good practical applications, body change and circular moves i left 2 open for Naha-te , i was thinking of Saifa and Superinpei though do you think we could omit one between Naihanchi and sanchin,?if i have to do this then i would delete Naihanchi and i would use a soft version of Sanchin, two other subject 1- how would you step and stand 2- how would you block i would stand high and i walk like Shorin ryu or Ryuei-ryudoes, i would block the way Goju ryu does and i will bring the chin-na techinques in , while i would not teach any lock or take down from a stationary situation (like "OK, i grab your opposite hand now you do this then do that now you have me in a lock" ) if you had done this before ,what kind of problems you had to resolve? your ideas please,
  13. i have nothing against Aikido but the way they practice is not helping them, i've seen 4 guys throwing themselvse in and the center guy use their momentum to throw them around but in reality if they encounter a trained person they wouldn't over extend and they know about center line too. let's say i come at somebody with a fake jab ,body change and reverse punch i think majority of Aikido practitioner would go after locking the jab and will be knocked out by reverse punch or any other following wave of attack, but in a hand of a master it's hard to predict.

I know the ones we use at dojo fog like hell, but at work i buy some kinda of safty glasses for my workers, these are called "anti fog" and it works great since they use them with respirators, normal safty glasses get fogy in a minute,
  15. 1- do not bow for her 2- don't say "osu" 3- don't show her your skills in kongFu for 4 hours 4- don't talk to much 5- don't give a damn it's a win win situation for you since you are the freshman and she is the older one.
  16. i've never seen someone who doubt pressure points falls by simple hits, it's just a Gold mine for people like Goerge Dillman. and who says dim mak is banned, you think federal goverment has nothing else to do?

we do this in the class but superwised, mostly our sensei is one side of it or a trained one against a new student so there is allways some kind of control in punches and throws. this is the closest you can get to a fight without harming each other in class.
  18. i am a "server busy, try later"
  19. the best is to drop out from high school and run your dad's $100M company. well i had the plan and a dad but he didn't have that $100M so i had to stay in school for 19 years.
  20. Bears can run to 30 mph, they can climb and they can swim. Needsless to say they can outrun (be it speed or sustained), outswim and out climb a man. If you do take a chance please make sure your first arrow works. If not you may not have time to get another one off oh yes Sir. we have a back up plan, his name is James and he is the slowest one among our group.last year in Oct. we didn't find any in 3 days may be this year.
  21. i shoot long bow but mostly target shooting really have no time or desire to kill ,if one day a bear comes in the range may be i take a chance.
  22. i can tell you one thing , most of a times injuries wouldn't get healed because we don't give it a rest, i was in cast for 6 months for a small fracture because i was keep walking on it, finally doctor cut the cast and told me to get the hell out of his office. same with ligements and tendons you gotta give them some time to regenerate, keep streching them woldn't let them healed.
  23. tell him to do a form if he did tell him to do it again if he did, it means he knows something at least.
  24. isn't it a rule that a hit with no control gives a wazari to other side automaticaly.
  25. that's the man, the historian, the auther the owner. the one who learned Hakutsuru in Okinawa. there are some details and principals in okinawan crane system, i saw his kuminora no Hakutsuru. sometimes i have seen okinawan do the kata slightly different in their videos but i am not sure about sensei Alexander, it just seems slopy in some of the moves and i am not talking about being sloppy in a shotokan kata since crane katas are soft by nature. in general we have sticky hand techniques and striking hands, crane blocks with forearm and then grabs and pulls before toe kicks, when it striks hard the fingers wouldn't collaps because of hand positioning and angels which create tention in tendons without help from musclles and it is not just conditioning, this is the part i don't see in his kata , maybe he is just tired.
