  1. A lot more practice. When something feels strange there is only one way to loose that feeling - just keep doing it over and over.
  2. I remember my sandbox. It had a lid that raised up for a sun awning and then could be lowered to keep the raind out. And how the nice man next door made sure my sand box had nice white "river sand in it".
  3. It depends on how much teaching is done and what kind of classes are being taken.
  4. Try the Pro Force gi's they have fairly long tops much longer than the century gi's. As to body type I think that as one learns more and becomes more proficeint they find certain moves or combinations of moves that suit there abilities better. One should always work on the basics but from them you will learn what you can really do with them. Does that make any sense?
  5. I kind of like the way omnifinite thinks. Also I think many who are seemingly doing nothing are now being more aware of their neighbors. Seeing if they need a hand - doing little things like that. Things that would not necessarily be apparent on first look but make a difference all the same. Not everyone can be a ranger. Not everyone can be a fireman, paramedic or police officer. But everyone can lend a helping hand to a neighbor. And that adds up.
  6. The pizza and beer follow finals week and do not run concurrently.
  7. A more familiar form of this may be known as runners "hitting the wall".

  14. And old taping technique we used to use is a simple band of tape around the arch. And I have found that ice massage works well. Contrast between ice and heat is ecen better.
  15. There have been a lot of threads in here relating to shins. However, most of them relate to toughening up the shins to kick with. The one thread I found pertaining to shinsplints is: http://www.karateforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3144&highlight=shinsplints
  16. We run on a quarter system so that new students start together. And they are taken off together as a group with a sempai who teaches them the basics and helps them learn how class runs. At first they stay off to the side for all of the class learning new things then they gradually are integrated into class.
