Since someone brought up the "pee" topic - did you know some medicines can alter the color of your pee? Yep and sometimes colorfully. One time in the hospital the first day the pharmacy did not have one of my normal meds and they substituted something else. I peed green; very bright green - true story. And did it ever feel weird when I noticed.

Justb I have to agree with you about the length on the ProForce gi's. There pants fit me better than any other pants but I have to cut off a bit before I can even think about hemming them. I think there has only been one or two very tall guys in our dojo who have not had to hem them. I have to admit if I don't need pockets I wear my extra black gi pants instead of jeans now without even thinking about it.

It can be a terrifying experience to face 19 white belts some eager some not so. Maintaining control is important but don't scare them too much or some of them tend to leak. (true we call it trial by urine) They do love to punch targets. And remember those who are really trying get extremely frustrated when they don't do well.

You know bratt I really don't believe it is the level of rank one holds that matters as much as the way they worked for it and earned it. I kind of believe that learning and advancing through the ranks is a highly personal and internal thing. I know that may sound a bit odd.

Pins, definately I would buy a pin for my hat. I am thinking about the beach hat. Are they waterproof for the rain?

[color=indigo][/color]I have to agree that finding the right avatar is indeed a hard thing to do. I am still in the process of finding and image I like after I resize it. Funny how the little things can be so important to us.

[color=indigo][/color]I have trained in shotokan, matsubayshi shorin ryu, and hayashi ha shi-to ryu. The main difference in shrorin ryu was that the stance were higher. And being an okinawan style some of the terms have a different name than the same thing in a "Japanese" style. Remember at one time Okinawa was a seperate country from Japan; and the language had differences. http://www.shorinryu.dk/html/indexe.htm Is a pretty good site. There are nice links to video clips of all the katas. They take a while to download but are of a very high quality.

[color=indigo][/color]Actually really like my karate pants so much so in fact that I have extra pants to work out in. I ripped out virtually all of my sweat pants stretching in them. I also find myself wearing my black pants with a t-shirt as casual wear. I also made a slight modification to my gi top. I added some snaps; they help prevent accidental flashings. :pony:

The angle at which your hand makes contact also makes a bit of difference.

We have done kind of free for all things with everyone up. As soon as you are hit you are out. Last one up wins. Also done with using just one side of the body. Vary by having ranks go after higher ranks first or older students first.

Actually this comes from a recent introduction. How old is a geezer? Does physical conditioning affect the age of geezerdom? Is geezerdom a state of mind? Are the older martial arts students condsidered geezers at an earlier age than their couch potato type peers?
