We can tell you a lot of things but none of it is going to work until you actually put some inititive into your ideas and turn them into actions. Start off slowly by cutting back on the things you enjoy. This may be watching lots of tv of sitting on the computer a lot, or this could be eating your favorite fatty foods or drinking soda. Next put yourself on a healthy diet, with the correct foods and all the exercising that you can handle. No miracle diet or eating only diet foods is going to help you. The only thing that can help you is you. After you have over come these obstacles go to the next phase which is making your life uncomfurtable. Force yourself to do things that you dont want to do. Running, Lifting Excess Weights or whatever it takes. You have to tell your body to do something and not put it off or give in. You get out what you put in. Just like in Martial Arts you get out what you put in. The more you put in the better you will end up. Think about that. Oh yea also don't do anything dangerous, do as much as you can take. You dont want to end up in the hospital with some serious malnutrition or something. _________________ Do unto others, as they done to you. Just out of curiosity do any of you take special types of vitamins to help your muscles stretch more? Or do you just stretch daily..?

I personally think that if you trick your mind into thinking that there is Chi or use your mind to think about something else during that time anything is possible.

You dont want to walk in a Dashing handsome person with a white belt and have everyone laugh at you.... colors make people more confortable, and its easier to rank people against each other in tourneys based on what the know.

Action Movies
TKD_McGee replied to KickChick's topic in Martial Arts Gaming, Movies, TV, and Entertainment
Yea its true, ive seen just about every Sean Claud movie that has been shown on Cable TV and he does use stunt doubles. Some of his movies are cheesy, wait most of them are! Street Fighter Double Impact Double Team Legionnare Bahah... oh well, Martial Arts B movies are still fun to watch.. -
Are you like me or most people in the US? You see those stupid infomercials or ads for pils on TV that want you to spend hundreds of dollars on a stupid product!? You don't need the Chuck Norris Bow Flex or the Jackie Chan Rope Stretch.. you just need your body. All you really need is a good imagination, ambition and time. You don't even need free weights to perform difficult tasks. You don't need ancient chinese meditation secrets either! At one time I had nothing with which to work out with. (Now i have some free weights and a small bench center (250$ total)) There are many forms of the Push Up that can keep you in shape if done in a regular routine. Push Up, Military Push Up, One Arm Push Up, Clap Push Up, Kung Fu Push Up just to name a few. If you do these things daily and eat correctly anything is possible. How do you think ancient Romans got buff? With a Bowflex? I think not! Running and Biking is possibly the cheapest way to get into shape and gain the most stamina without spending hundreds of dollars a year. You don't need a bunch of neat equipment to look trendy or feel better! You can also do lots of abdominal exercises with no equipment. The common crunch is easy if used daily. If you want to make it more difficult put your rear end against the wall and try to do sit ups touching your feet up the wall. You can all do steam engines, which is a combination of moving side to side with your torso and moving your legs back and forth rapidly. If you incline any of your exercises they can be twice as difficult keeping you from feeling hopeless. (put your feet on top of chairs or put your arms closer together) I used to do all of these things daily and was in good enough shape to excel in Martial Arts. You need to push yourself, the equipment can't help you as much as you can help yourself.

Wow that excellent news. Congrats.

Stay at home dads = ROFL This is ridiculious that we have to put up with this stuff in the US. Feminizing men, some parents tell their kids to play with dolls and be nice. While in other countries little boys fight with each other and play with model guns as toys. In WW2 the french told their boys to be nice and gave them dolls to play with while the germans told their kids that they were strong and smart and gave them model weapons and military things as toys. Well we all know what happened between them in WW2! I agree almost no one goes hard on women unless they are raised with no morals. Dern russians or something, wife beaters!

If ladies act like ladies they are treated like them. I don't think that men should treat women wrongly no matter how ugly or mean they are. I let women hit me, ill only hit them if they actually want to fight. Now that we are in the 21st century this is seen as sexist or something, I dont really care what people think about it im still going to retain my values.

Epsom Salt, First Aid Oinkment, and Alcohol are a martial artists best friends... If your muscle really hurts, right after the injury rub it.. heat does wonders..

That is about right, 12-15 is when you are comfortable, 20 is when you own it...
