Three ppl in my class have Knee Braces from torn ACL injuries... I think ou have to sit back and see how far you can go. You can't be a superman with those kind of serious injuries.

TKD_McGee replied to Bretty101's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
9 year wow, I think you should be able to help me with your twist kick with that experience... haha. Sounds like a personal problem then. -
Can MA be used against other species?
TKD_McGee replied to KickChick's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Focus your Chi and channel it thru the Bear, therefore controlling its mind and making it your pet... WUTAH. -
There was energy flowing all right.... energy to your head!

How bout a mix like I do? You don't want to walk into a sporting club of some sort and do TKD. I think that american traditional wtf/itf tkd is the best bet. Or just choose what u have available in your area. If you want self defense, then don't go into sport tkd knowing that it is sport tkd!

Twist kick, help!!
TKD_McGee replied to Bretty101's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
Well the guy you saw in the video was probabily a talented person who has trained for years. I assumed that you just started because of your question. But you say you've done it for a year and u still have trouble, how about asking some elders in your school or your master? I hate to try to explain different stretches over the internet, especially with no filmstrips. Try doing general stretches each day, and running for stamina. -

Twist kick, help!!
TKD_McGee replied to Bretty101's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
Not to be rude or anything, but how much do u weight? A twist kick is for a tap, its incredibully hard to make a twist kick move someone unless they weight a lot less than you, or they are inexperienced. Try to twist the hip instead of your knee, this prevents injuries. Its all in the hips, ya gotta whip the hips. I don't think u want to work your inner leg tendons that can be dangerous. Just use a regular routine of stretching, and listen good in class. It will come with time. -
Where is Brian Fitzpatrick today? He's in a small cottage mumbling to himself insanities because he is punch drunk... lol. If its serious you should have someone look at it, you don't want a potential injury that could take you out for a good 6 weeks, especially when u are starting a martial art. If its a case of whining, then PUT up with it.

By Rejects I mean, overweight, picked on, forced into it by parents... I mean the US team could be really good if they had people that were into it and were fierce competitors. Kind of like the people who play in the NFL and NBA. I started to do martial arts because I was watching a movie called Blood Sport.. they were playing a cheesy early 80s video game in hong kong, the graphics amazed me so I decided to fight like the pros.

I couldn't agree more with Bon. 13 is the best age to start. Your muscles are starting to develop, and what better way to have them conditioned for 5 years. Just as long as you dont get a belt complex, or you are too ****y. 30lbs is no problem, when you enter your late teenage years the weight should burn off. You shouldn't be in a class with little kids.. try to find a professional school that treats its students with quality. Especially for the price you are going to be paying for years.

How do i tie my taekwondo belt
TKD_McGee replied to MrDash's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
Your just going to get confused listening to online instructions... Ask the your Teacher, whom you pay for lessons to teach you how to do it. You pay him after all don't you? -
Thats all Kiddy Stuff.. Tekkaman Blade is a good anime, Ninja Scrolls, Akira, and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust... It really depends on what you want, horror, sci fi, or comedy. I tend to like SCI fi anime the best. Horror anime is wierd, I don't like to see demons raping women. Japanese don't think rape is bad either... The 1st DBZ movie with Brolly is my favorite, you have to see that one.

Hockey.... is lame... -
People today dont fight often, they just act tough. MTV generation my @$$... I can't stand MTV, I don't even have it anymore. Kids today are punks that don't know how to fight. They are just skinny mixed up kids. TV Shows like Martial Law, and Walker Texas Ranger just make me laugh. They are such horrible depictions, not to mention propaganda. I seen an episode of Walker Texas ranger where they went into texas back country and there was a Nazi group in a huge warehouse watching a big muscle bound black guy fight a skin head tatoo guy.... come on people that is ridiculous.

Aikido and Realistic Attack
TKD_McGee replied to Shaolin's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
Aikido is more like mind and spirit stuff.... its not offensive. -
English version is lame and kiddy style. Thats why so much little kids like it, it appeals to them. The actual Japanese version was made more for adults, but everyone could watch it. There is actually Nudity, extreme violence, and lots of cussing. In the Later Saga's it gets more complex and adult oriented. Why do you think there is a big gap missing, and trunks suddenly appears (Before and after time travel thingy), and we find out mid way through that Bulma is married to Veggetta? !? _________________ Do unto others, as they done to you.
