Luther is good. If you are a fan of Church history, or just a fan of Historical movies, you will like it. It is a movie worth seeing. I haven't seen the Rundown yet, but it looks pretty kickass.

You sure he wasn't talking about a manslaughter charge? -
Really? I've never seen these pictures. People just don't understand karate, there are so many McDojo's giving it a bad name. It is the Martial Art they love to hate (next to BJJ, of course )

Anyone have shaky hands "the shakes" when training
Tibby replied to OrenJuMok's topic in Health and Fitness
Yeah, you nerves can really get it. WHen you are about to Spar, for people who have never sparred before, it can be a little scary. Also, you may not be getting enoug hcarbs. You need energy. Eat a banana or 2 before the work out, along with a big glass of water. That should give you a nice dosage of carbs and vitamens to boost you energy levels when you work out. -
yeah, that is the problem. It does bring out great converstation, and the better you concentration, the better you lift. If you are focusing like a 6 year old with ADD, you will make similar gains. It you are focusing like a God... well, you get the idea I'm a quiet guy untill someone starts to talk about Lifting or Fighting or some other form of working out. THen I sound like a 3 year old when you ask them about Pokemon. I don't need any one tempting me to take a 20 minute rest to make pointless arguements about muscle pull vs. muscle push or what billy did with Sammy after leaving the club Sunday. It is the ones who go at their training with god-like concentration who win.

Man, there is nothing! How small is your town?
-
Oh, lunges can be annoying! But they beef up your legs like nobody's bunisses! They should atleast have some form of pull down, You can even do pull ups on the squat rack if, you have to
-
Good. Keep it like that. Make sure the weight is heavy enough so it will not. If you can throw it like that, you are going to fast, and need to add weight.
-
You're right about TKD. But try for Kick Boxing. That should be fun at least.

You just discribed over half the guys on this board, and a few of the girls!

In mean the mean time, your new name is Unix

Are you sure he is still here? His post count is 6, and half of those are in this thread. If he is, I'd like to know, too. But I think he left about getting the info he needed.

Restarting boxing
Tibby replied to Tibby's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
The main problems come from my neck becoming messed up by blows to the head. For some strange reason, it was only blows to the head that hurt my neck. Headlocks and things of that nature don't do a thing to me in the long run. But for some reason, those blows to the head just kill my neck! I want to the Chiroctor after months of not going the other day, and I didn't hardly need to get adjusted at all! I didn't need a cracking, even with Jujitsu. But when I boxed, if I wasn't stiff as a board, I would crack like a machine gun! Anyone who says Boxing isn't a devastating art need to consider trying it first! -
as long as you arn't going to fast.
-
yeah, lol. I'm short, so free weights are my cup of tea

I haven’t put on the gloves in 3 years. I had to stop because my neck was injured pretty badly. Now, I’m considering joining my Colleges new Boxing College. I visit a Chiropractor and massage therapist, which helped. On top of my neck being a worry, I also have Jujitsu classes twice a week, which are rather intense, and I lift weights, which, due to Jujitus and college, I had to cut from 5 days a week to 2 days a week. I was wondering what you guys think, and tips for my neck (other then not getting hit in the head) and other advice on balancing my work outs. Should I restart boxing at all? Maybe thoughts would be helpful. I just wanted to bounce this off you guys, see what you think.

Try this, curl the bar, at the speed yo uare going at now, with your hands open. Chances are, the weights will fly up. Think about that. See, the problem with a lot of exersices like that is they only work you at the start, the force carries the weight the rest of the way. You should have enough weight on that you CAN'T explode that most. You can go faster, but exploding should be avoided, it might cause injury going at high speeds. For abs, sit ups are the best, why don't you like them? I guess if yo uahve to yo ucan go for crunches, holding them for some time. For lats and back, since you don't have pull downs are rows, do pull ups. The closer the grip, the more it works the traps, the wider the grip, the further the grip, the more it works the lats. For lower back- Deadlifts and streight leg deadlifts are great, plus they are a way to get your legs without squats. Make them Sumo Deadlifts for more leg work.
-
Yeah, the pull downs shoulder work the back of the shoulder. A lot of people who are taller perferre machines, freeweights can hurt their elongated spine. Some exersices, like squats, are harder on taller guys. Arnold would often talk about how he have to hunch over when doing squats, while guys like Franco can stand streight and do them. But I don't think she is very tall at all. Besides, most new weight rooms in schools are doing more and more machines, and less and less free weights. She may not have a choice.

Help a sore rookie! Can anyone recommend any supplements?
Tibby replied to queewag's topic in Health and Fitness
Your muscles should get used to it a little bit. If they don't, you need to go see a Doctor, tell him your syptoms, and tell him this is a persisting soreness. For now, try you average over the counter drugs. You might also want to invest in a tubve of aspercreme, rub it on your sore areas after a shower where it hurts. Also, try stretching before you go to bed the night of class, and again in the morning after. that might help, too. -
