  1. Money. If you are certified, people who don’t know any better will pile the money on to lose weight, or gain muscle. A lot of the guys who have those are amateur Body Builders and weightlifters as it is, they already know how to train, but no one will get near you if you don’t that a title behind your name. If you really want to get a Certification, and learn, then you would get a American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)Certification, but hardly anyone ever passes the test he first time, and the text book to pass is MASSIVE! If you are already well versed in weight training and cardio, why waste your time with ACSM when you can get a ACE and start making money on no time! The true measure of a trainor should be his body, not his title.
  2. The American Counsel of Exercise is a great place to start. The Certification they give are jokes, but no one know that. All you do is take a test, and you are an official ACE Certificated Personal Trainer.
  3. As a power lifter, I did both these exercises competitively. Deadlifts will not limit your flexibly. They have found weightlifting increases your flexibility, so don’t worry about Deadlifts limiting it. Maybe you should try sumo deadlifts. It is a form of deadlift some power lifters perferre to use, to help them lift more weight, they spread there legs out a lot more when they lift. It is hard to explain, go to a powerlifting site look at the pictures, you will know it when you see it. They look like a cross between a deadlift and a sumo wrestler’s starting stance. As for squats, they can be bad on your knees, if you do them wrong. Keep your feet in a comfortable position, don’t pointing straight ahead, but don’t point your toes to wide, don’t use weights that are too weight the first few times. If you skill are a bit skeptical, you can drop the deadlifts, but I would not advise dropping the squats unless you have suffered a serous leg injury. Squats work your thighs, your calfs, your foot, your hips, your lower back, your abs, ever you lat and traps and arms come into it some. The squat will help you to hold your grounds, and force your foes back. Squats are a must for all sportsmen!
  4. In weight lifting, a lot of guys have this problem. We have a eat right, but we sometimes don’t have the time to cook. We need High Protein and high carbs meals for body building and energy building. I’d advise you check out Tuna, a Body Building staple. Pop a can open, and eat up! Try lunch meat! Or beef jerky! If you are bored with eating veggies, then eat fruits! Apples, bananas, etc. If you are going to take SaiFightsMS advise, make sure you get a good brand of shake. They have some seriously crappy brands out there, keep a look out.
  5. I'm guessing TheHitman585 is referring to striking with a punuching motion in a hammer fist fashion, that is a punch with the fist thumb on the top, and the pink nearer to the floor.
  6. Hey, guys. I’m new to the Forum. I’ve been doing boxing for about 5 years, I’ve done Karate for over 1 year, and I’ve been doing Jiujutsu for a few months. I also enjoy weight lifting, about as much as I love Martial Arts. Just wanted to drop a line and say I’m hear!
