  1. Do you where an undershirt? Go to walmart and get a 3 pack of white under-tees for like a buck. And it looks nice, too. Wear one of those under you other shirt, that should help things. And/or you can just wear dark clothing. Anti-perspirant is real a waste of time. Half the time it doesnt't work, and if it does, it is unhealthly! Sweating is natural no need to stop sweat. It is the oder you need to worry about! It is called deoderant for a reason. Behind, those brown saints on your white shirts that stay even after you shirt is dry, that is caused by the deoderant, not the sweat. Like I siad, just where the white undershirts and some Axe or something, it would work wonders.
  2. Agreed. You don’t need to do every one every time. Every time you change up your program, change the different ones. Some schools of Weight Training Though don’t even bother with the flat any more. Can’t say I’m a member for that school, but hey, you might consider it. Plus, I wouldn’t suggest just don’t barbell presses. Try flies, cable flies, dumbbell presses, push-ups, dips, and more flies.
  3. I know, I'm just messing with ya. First I real "I went from 50000 to a lean 180" then I read "I've lose wieght with the new fad diet" and I thought, "Hey, all we need is a weight machine with rubber ranbs and Chuck Norris pulling himself up in a rowing machine, and we have us a late night cable station"
  4. It is just me, or has this thread started to sound like an infomercial?
  5. Don’t forget tank! If Wrestling was the best MA, wouldn’t they have stayed in it, instead of moving on to other things?
  6. Get some asperecreme, and rub it on every night and morning, after a shower, and when ever you have a chance to wash you feet and reapply. Soak it in ice, and then heat. Can be sure not to injury it again! You have a few days before the demo, it should be mostly cleared up by then. Good luck!
  7. Ground fighting isn't hard to learn. For most people, it is just a thing of learning the moves correctly. Some people are uncomfortable on the ground, but you wil get over that, and soon be fighting. As a Karateka, you may be a little uncomfortable on the ground at first. You will get more comfortable with it as time goes on. Most strikers are like that. Once you are pass that stage, it would be a few monthes, if even that, before you are descent at ground work. It really depends on how much work you put into it. The ground is a tricky place, take notice to every aspect of the hold. The leg placement, the possition of the person's arm or leg in a joint lock, all these things are vital in being good on the ground. Jujitsu is great for groundwork. Most grappling arts are good with groundwrok, because they mostly have the same things! But sence your in Karate and Akido, Jujitsu would be a good art for helping you mixing what you have alreayd learned and mixing them.
  8. Orbital is great if you just want instraments. If you don't have Kazaa, get it. http://Kazaalite.com is a great place. You can download music. The RIAA, yeah right!
  9. I was referrign to the No carb fad diets in general. I have heard very little of the South Beach diet it self. Only that they a low for more carbs then the average. I still don't trust it. Eat right, work out, best way to lose weight and keep it off without any unseen effects.
  10. any illwillpress.com fans? Foamy Rules!
  11. Great sites, both of them!
  12. Low carb, my *. More like NO CARB. Just work out, and eat correct amounts of everything, and you will be fine. Energy is needed. Carbs give you energy. It takes almsot as much energy to turn protien into energy as is creates! You almost come out even. Just get a health balance diet and work out ,and you should be fine.
  13. They use paper wad bullets with infrared scanner at the barrel of the guns. The explosives are weak, you'd have to be urinating on the bomb to get hurt by them. War games and training, they are glorified Laser tag. NHB uses REAL punches, REAL kicks, REAL joint locks. Face it, war games are to war what NHB fighting is to street fighting.
  14. You might want to check on that, most insurances cover Chiropractors. Back walks would be nice, but a good old fashion massage can be just as great!
  15. Seeing as you are in Kickboxing and Juiitsu, you really should be conserned with size. The legs contain some of hte largest muscles in the body, controll legs size is a great way to control your weight class.
  16. It really all depends. For some, High reps work. For others, low reps work. More almost everyone, high reps on squats are killers for your legs. Try 20 rep squats. It is a mental thing, as well as a physical. Your legs will burn like fire. You will want to stop at 12! Ditto on what White_Tiger said, you will not get Tom Platz legs over night. Other Then squats, deadlifts, front squats, and lunges are great for building that leg. When you are doing Extensions or curls of the leg, hold it at the peak for a few second before letting down. When you do calf raise, make sure your toes are raised on a box or some small surface, an inch or 2 above the ground. They need to get that extra stretch. So go till your heels touch the ground and back up. You will feel it. , making some massive calves, and giving your thighs great tone.
  17. lol, I was about to say, with scoliosis... Glad that isn't the case. Yeah, putting some muscle mass on your should help. And going to a Chiropractor. It is cool. unhealthy, but cool
  18. ditto. Roman chairs is known to do damage to health backs sometimes. If her back is bad, she should consider SUPERLIGHT lower back work-outs to support her spine, nothing more, if even that.
  19. I've only done Isshinryu. I like it.
  20. Stephan Hayes, you say? I will it out. Really? Where did you here this? I recognize that the US military is embarrassed to tell you that, but they have war games versus the Canadian military every year and lose every single time. It's not that they're a bad military, just that they are heavily mechanized, designed for wide-open desert fighting, and that doesn't mesh well with special forces. We specialize troops. Some troops are sent to train in Dezert, others in mountians, others in forrests, etc, etc. Aside from that, I don't think " annual war games with canada" counts as "every military simulation they participate in."
  21. Sounds like the problem is you are to lazy to fix your self a glass if ice water! lol. Get some bottled water. It will be so much easier to just walk up to the frig, grab a bottle, and drink. Sure htey cost, but who are you to put a price on your health Just keep filling the bottles up. Trust me, I have hte same problem. If I'm not training, I'm not drinking (water ). I just the bottle to get a fast drink, go thru like 5 a day.
  22. Yeah, they are great for warm-ups and other light work. PT's use them, as light weight resitance for people in therepy. My advice, don't waste your money. Go to a sporting good store, invest in some rubber tubes. Same thing, but a lot cheaper. Tie a knot around your ankle, and BAM, intance kicking resitance. One more thing, that chick and that guy, I can garno-damn-te you they did not get those body's with that POS system. I'm sure you knew thatt just thought I'd add it.
  23. It is a group we have in America in High Schools and College's. THey are militray programs for youth. If a young perso nwants to join the Miltary whe nthey get out of High School, they can join the ROTC. Tne ROTC will also pay for college. I'm not in it, but what I hear it is like mimi-boot camp, year round.
  24. So, you are enjoying lifting then, eh? Looks like we have another Kathy Smith on our hands! Monkeygirl in 10 years: http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00007JMD2.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg Welcome to the wonderful work of Iron. Yeah, lower body free weigths are really hard on the body, and the mind. I can work my hardest on upperbody ,and onyl sweat a ltitle, but when I whip out the leg work out, I'm dripping! It is rough on you! They don't just wor kthe legs. Where as free weight work, like Bench presses and curls work the upper body, the Squat and deadlift use the whole body to work properly. Oh, it does suck! But still the best way to get strong legs. Time out, back problem? Did I miss that post? What kind of Back problem? As in a spinal Problem?
