    Bow

Bowing has become a habit for me. Sometimes I will bow when entering my house, someone elses house, church, etc, lol. Once or twice, I've even bowed before sitting down to the computer! lol. I geuss it just becomes a habit after while, both my schools require it, it is just a thing of respect.
  2. Yeah, white tiger did a good job, take his advise! Be sure to get plenty of rest and water before hand, you wnat to be at %100. DOn't worry about winning in your first tournament. You kind of just getting your feet wet, getting used to it. pay attention to everything your team leader/Sensei does, so you will know what to do if you want to go alone or lead a team one day.
  3. They are both usefull. If you are a weak, linear movements maybe be a little hard to do in the stranger guys. Sometimes you will have to use one, other time the the other willl come in handy.
  4. Sounds like you have been watching Cradle 2 the Grave... That was a smooth move, if you would throw someone with that, it would look SWEET!
  5. Yeah, it didn't "suck." It was a good movie. Mayber not as good as the other 2, but it was a good movie! And the chick was hot.
  6. All I know it, I'm 5'5" and everyone in my class hates doing throwing drills with me. If you do judo, your best bet would be to focus on foot sweeps. Which is good, because foot sweeps are some of the first things you will learn. Go a head, give it a shot, you might enjoy it. If not, you can quit any time!
  7. He sounds like he is full of it! Tell us more of this "style" Wasp.
  8. I'd say reglar pushups for that reason. Push-ups work the Triceps and Chest, so what? Is that the only exersice you can do? no, pull ups work the oposite muscles, do them after Push-ups. If all your doing is push-ups when you work out, your wasting time and effort, and causing a muscle imbalance that you will regret later!
  9. Next time, ask him, if stretching doesn't do all this, what does?
  10. Yeah, just like we have True Martial Arts, and McDojo Black belts.
  11. Danoshen. My Master Studied under a Korean Master with, along with Judo, and Tea Kwon Do, And American Karate(what a joke) and he was a Deputy Sheriff. It is a "modern" style, but quite effective.
  12. Last I checked, a “Paladin” was a holy knight which is obsolete in every aspect of live except RPGs. Where did you get your black belt, Wizards of the Coast?
  13. That is interesting. Chuck is a little healthier then Bruce, the corn feed Southern Boy he is. Bruce kicked his * in Game of Death, the first seen, but that was just a movie. Anyone know who would/did really win a fight between them? We know for sure he did Karate, he is like what? 3 time World Karate Champion?
  14. Battlefield Combat and street combat are 2 very different things. Just because it was made for a battle field, doesn’t mean it is better by any means. As for strike and joint locks, we do plenty of those in my class, and as far as I know, it is a modern style... Now, as lower ranking person, I know what you mean about "oint manipulation stuff doesn't work in a real situation" because I can't get it to work. But the Blue belts can do it peice of cake. It sounds like most of the big complaint you hear come from while belts, or the students of McDojo's. Who knows.
  15. You have to admit, that sounds like a hell of a lot a fun Not all people, just guys like the person who wrote the article. He does sounds a little bitter. Grappling, striking, it all has its place in a fight. This guy is clearly a moron, Grappling is the hardest part of most fighting schools, striking is easy, wouldn't it make for sense to teach the hard stuff sooner, so they can learn it? It just seems to me you should spend MORE time on the harder stuff!
  16. "sportsteacher"? What is that? Is it like a coach? Or is it some health class teacher?

    KARATE MANUAL

Nice site, thanks for passing it along!
  18. I don't have much of a problem. The problem main come from the fact that My Sensei is Buddhist in Baptist country! We have found tracks covering out door, and dead animals in the door way. And they fact that he is a Martial Arts doesn't help things. It is kind of embarrassing being a Christian when the Baptists pull stunts like that! The worst part it this, my Studio is an Non-prophet humanities origination that travels to Asia, mainly the Philippines, and delivers humanitarian aid. The Baptist refuse to help us in any way because the Sensei isn’t a Christian! O, let us allow the people of Asia to die of Starvation and sickness, as long as there are no non-Christians helping them. I think America's problem comes from the Right wing protestant groups who protest the teaching of Eastern philosophy, all the while not facing one simple face: The bible IS eastern philosophy! Well, I’d better get off the soap box before I fall off...
  19. Yeah, I listen to some stuff. Not a Fan of J-pop, though.
  20. It’s ok, Aka. I mean, we are talking about the chance of little choldern getting hurt, if that doesn’t upset you just a little bit, you'd need help!
  21. Prizm= Corolla with Chevy engine, and Corolla tough little cars...
  22. You might want to wait till AFTER you read mine to say things like that lol I'll PM you both with my Haiku when I finish writing it, give me some tips. I did
  23. If you like Action, rent “Cradle 2 the Grave” with Jet Li and DMX, coming out Tuesday. Randy Couture, Tito Ortiz, Chuck Lindell and some other Pro Fighters have a cameo appearance, and they go at if for a short clip, not choreographed, but a full on fight. Even Mimi-me gets a little action against Let Li! The plot was pretty good, classic “Cop and bad guys team up to fight even more evil bad guys who want to sell some WMD the first bad guys stole to more even more rich bad guys” story line. There is a LITTLE wire work, but most of it is good old faction brutal fighting sense, they aren’t trying to copy the Martix, they only use the wire when they have to, and spend most of the time with good old fashion Martial Arts action. If you are a big fan of Action films, this is a MUST SEE! ANyone seen Gigle yet? It sounds REALLY bad! lol, I mean, with the reveiws it has been getting, DAMN, is sound REALLY REALLY rough. lol, we need to go see it!
