  1. Raisn nuts and bran cereals? Not to my knowledge. But, hey, mom did the shopping and I did the eating! :)
  2. So was I. Although I think he was looking for a school near him and not a particular style.
  3. Correct Rateh, though samonella takes a little longer to form as people eat raw egss right out of the shell. but, my question is why? Why do people do this?
  4. I say I somewhat agree. Loyal to one teacher, is ok, but will not produce a well-versitile martial artist.
  5. Nice post. All too many times people have to associate Kung Fu with either the animals or Shaolin.

This wasnt so encouraging and hard to tell someone to quit when one cannot. However, that said, has smoking bothered your martial art training?
  7. Not too far til the 4-Zero. The bright side, you could be 49 pushing 50
  8. I took it in the 70's as well. but it went white, yellow, green, blue, brown, black Nowadays, I guess it is best to go with a school that has a strong org backing up. Preferably one certfified with the KuKiWon/ Although other orgs, like the ITF and ATA are also good.
  9. Please don't misunderstand my question, 5-7 years training seems to be the right course is what I was thinking and why I was asking
  10. Best defense is the Miyaki-Danielsan toy drum.
  11. There comes a time, female and male sport atheletes alike, where age and long term body abuse catches up.
  12. ShoriK, I wasnt missing the point, I was just adding extra variables.
  13. Drilling is ok. But I would think instead of taking up precious class time on sparring driolls, perhaps assign drills so student can practice certain drills on their own. Drills maybe ok for beginners like training wheels on a bike, but soon its time to take off the training wheels.
  14. Does this make them responsible and those who cater to it? Goodness no, just the opposite in fact. I was agreeing with you. I didnt think you were sayiing much different. I was just adding more to your post.
  15. Not to sound condenscending, may I ask why?
  16. I dont reccomend Shaolin Gung Fu, as this is no longer authentic and accurate. I realise you hadn't asked about a choice, but asking or telling what style you should choose is like asking someome what football team you should like. I guess, the best thing is to search your area than searching for answers and personal recommendations of others here.
  17. I say go for any that is close to home, close to your budget, and start. Starting a path is better than trying to decide what path is best especially when you had not made a initial step. Stop thinking and start "walking"
  18. How far back does your mags go?

Hang in there. It is a tough monkey to get off your bacl.
  20. In one of the martial arts I studied Black-was beginners Red Purple Yellow White-advance
  21. I think Judo/YUDO, is a excellant compliment to Karate like cheese and crackers, peas and carrots, etc....
  22. Thanks BM, this was another way of what I was trying to say.
  23. Indeed. I guess this is where finally the first "M" in "MMA" is starting to get definite meaning.
  24. Pound for pound, when it comes to strength and/or musle, realistically, females will not be as strong as males. Now, I am not saying, with training in skill sets, they are not good martial artists. There are some excellant female martial artists out there. But the strength equation seems to be agianst their favor. Therefore, I wanted to add surprise into this, as I did not want it to be misconstrued that strngth is ALL that is needed.
  25. I somewhat agree, but a lot of his stuff was based upon the foundation of VT/WC Martial arts and the teachers of, were always envolving. Thus not being set to the preceeding ways. All of which incoproated othe info or methods upon another introduction.
