Paolung nailed it. I'd recommend taking Glucosamine (I don't have a bottle handy so I don't know if thats spelled right). It really helps your body before and after a workout.

OK now I know what it is I guess they can be used to work on drills such as "bob and weave" and "stick and move". I'd recommend using it to box and keep moving while you're doing it. I don't have any experience with those

Unhealthy snacks could be slowing you down. Avoid the vending machines. And don't forget about the cardio.

Do blackbelts have a responsibility to....

I think everyone has a responsibility to help other people. -
Are you eating right and doing cardio?

I'm lost. How big is the bag? Sorry about answering with questions of my own but if I can get an idea of what it is I might be able to help.
-
Can you define "floor to ceiling bag" a little bit for me? And set it up a little above your head. Hitting the top isn't good.

Thanks but don't worry about it. If it keeps raining I'll just trade my car for a boat -

Thanks. If it ever stops flooding I'll check them out -
Skipping will keep you light on your feet and improve your agility. Thats just my opinion because I don't know much about skipping.

Want to get a second opinion on my workout routine.
Tombstone replied to Omega-X's topic in Health and Fitness
Here's a rough draft of an average workout schedule. This is just to give you an example. Monday: chest and triceps Wednesday: Back and biceps (include shoulders) Friday: Legs Use cardio as a warmup. Lifting weights as a warmup will generally decrease what you can do. -
No problem. I know quite abit about weight training so if you have any other questions feel free to send me a personal message. Omega-X, I prefer to do 3 sets of 8-12 reps. When you can do that without much trouble then add more weights.

I think its a bad idea but if thats what you want to do then go for it.

Thanks. We didn't have any serious problems with the tornadoes to my home but the roads got hit bad and there's still alot of places without power. I should be able to visit some dojo's in a few days. -
Incline press Decline press Flat press Flies You stated that you want to add size so make sure you're eating enough.

Well today's Monday but it's going to be awhile before I can do it. I got hit pretty hard by tornadoes so I have to take care of my priorities first. Hopefully I'll get to it eventually -
talking can make you mad but when you get hit, that draws the line.

Thanks. I forgot to mention what I was doing. I was training to go amateur in nhb competition if that makes any sense -
Few of you might remember when I said I quit my gym and was taking a break. Well I've decided to start training again. Exept im not going back to my old gym. I've had my fun there and its time to move on. Now I'm searching for something "more". I've become interested in studying an art instead of always training for the ring. Starting Monday I'm going to every dojo in my city to watch classes and see what exactly goes on in each one. I'm sure I'll find something I like considering theres over 20 dojos around me. Like my other post this doesn't really have much meaning. Just typing what I'm thinking and wondering if anyone else has ever thought this way.

Wavemasters are great when you consider their purpose. Doesn't take up much space and easily moved. As for it being a substitute for a heavy bag, I don't think so. But you'll see more Wavemasters in peoples home than heavy bags simply because a lack of space.

I agree with MartialArtist1. Put a person with no experience up against someone trained to fight and the trained fighter will win most of the time.
