  1. I prefer gyms that look run down and hardcore. The intimadation keeps the serious fighters around and the rest leave in about a month.
  2. A personal trainer will get you started on the right path As for the price, around here $40 is the basic fee for every gym.
  3. about an hour to go. lets see what happens. if its another deadline im moving to a different country
  4. Thats basically my workout Jack My days are different but you nailed it
  5. The reason behind it the best I can explain it: Lifting weights pulls and stretches your muscles. Progress comes from when your resting and the muscles are healing. Without rest they can't heal and you won't see any results.
  6. I don't wear one but I'll answer just for fun Grey sweat pants - probably Wal-Mart, I don't remember. White T-Shirt - Hanes
  7. In that case, I'd either try to kick him to give me some time to regroup or a leg sweep. I hope I read it right this time
  8. See a doctor.
  9. I'm not sure if I read the question right. Is the opponent standing or mounted?
  10. probably a simple headlock and go from their. the head lock would keep his punches from having alot of power.
  11. Do you wear boxing gloves in karate? If not then I'd say no. The gloves have alot to do with the blocking.
  12. Considering hes not the football guy, it couldn't hurt. Maybe you can learn something cool.
  13. Isn't he the football guy?
  14. We strike and grapple at my gym. Like you said, we don't use full force while sparring. We have tournaments about once every month(sometimes longer) and you need to be able to strike from the ground.
  15. Treadmills are great. How many gyms or health clubs have you seen that make you run laps around the building
  16. I've been weightlifting for too long. I though V training was working on shoulders and back
  17. this is my younger brothers old post. he's the one that got me interested in this forum. a "shoot" is basicly a double or single leg takedown. i dont shootfight but i think im right (judging on what i've seen).
  18. i've had to take long breaks due to injurys. when i got well enough to go back i almost didn't a few times. i think it was mainly laziness though
  19. 3 pounds in 2 weeks isn't bad. Thats a healthy way to do it. Some people lose too much too fast and become sick. For a rough estimate, go according to what you've already lost. Ex. losing 3 pounds every 2 weeks = 6 pounds a month.
  20. I fight NHB so you can imagine what my opinion is. As for point sparring, I've never done it so I can't say much about it.
  21. act incredibly angry at yourself for doing it and start trying to fix it. its hard to get mad at someone when their mad at themself for doing it
  22. Wow. Thats intense. Sounds more like boot camp than anything else
  23. I've always been told that vitamins give you an extra amount, not a needed amount. I'm sure theirs a pill out there but I don't think you'll find it in a gym or dojo. You said that you can't eat veggies so ask your doctor, I'm sure he or she can prescribe something.
