  1. Open hand strikes are very effective. My brother shootfights (and visits this forum) and all they use is open hand strikes. I've seen enough knock downs in his class to know their effective.
  2. I'm still working on it. My brother doesn't know how to do it so it might take awhile. And i thought he was a computer genius
  3. I'm glad someone mentioned BOB. IMO, thats one of the best focus bags i've ever seen. (except their too soft).
  4. sheep puppet and lifting weights will not slow you down. I am a middle-weight and have boxed a heavy-weight that was faster than me. I'm not a boxer but I'm not slow either
  5. thanks guys. I'll have my brother look into this because I don't know alot about electronics and such.
  6. in my opinion, kicking high = bad. that quote makes alot of since.
  7. my whole "style" is a cross-train.
  8. considering the time frame, i'd go with judo.
  9. definately bring someone. remember that this IS the internet and thousands are harmed by stuff like this every year. and make sure someone knows where your going and when you'll be back.
  10. I dont know alot about pankration but shootfighters spar using palm strikes and no hits to the face. I fight full contact but I dont consider it a "style".
  11. I fight full contact by the way. I would love to put it on the internet but I dont know how.
  12. Yes and no. Just like all other shows, it adapts to what people want to see.
  13. I had a friend tape one of my fights so I could finally see myself in action. When I'm usually watching a fight I get really involved and usually think of what I'd probably do in that situation. When I was watching my fight later that night it felt really weird. I don't think of myself as being a scary person but when I saw me on the tape I looked intimidating. All through the fight I was still having the "I'd probably do this" thoughts. The weirdest part was that I was actually doing it. It seemed as if I was controlling the tape all the way through . I learned alot about myself by watching that tape. I learned that I fight the way I think if that makes any sense. Anyone have any experiences like that? P.S. I had an outstanding victory so everyone I know is going to watch this video
  14. stealth? whats so special about stealth? as for learning ninjitsu on the internet, dont kid yourself. if theres not a school around you then find a new art. and be cautious of the schools.
  15. of course. Don't cave in to that "Most people" crap. Do what you do best and have fun.
  16. My "style" consists of some Muay Thai (sp?) and I dont think that would be best for you considering you have a bad knee. I wouldn't recommend starting out with two different arts. When your starting out one is hard enough already. Good luck.
  17. I just pull them back out and continue with my day. When that first started happening to me I always used ice and tape. After awhile though, I got aggravated with it.
  18. Can you tell me a little more about it? Sorry but I dont know what that is.
  19. Sorry, never heard of it. I seem to learn of a new style everytime i visit these forums
