  1. why do most fights go to the ground? IMO, most people are going to throw a punch or two then move in to grab their opponent. when your "average" two people grab each other in a fight they dont knee or elbow. instead they usually try to take their opponent to the ground. thats just from my experience and is only a suggestion.
  2. i weight lift for size and strength. i fight NHB so i dont know how helpful i can be with this subject. my advice is to go to Gold's Gym (or one like it). they have a program called APEX that will help you alot. each program is custom made for the person and their interests. tell them your reasons and goals and you'll have your own program to go by. if my memory is correct you'll even have a personal trainer for the duration of the program. its been awhile since i've been to a Gold's Gym so give them a call incase something changed.
  3. That doesn't seem very likely. If it is then I apologize. I know that when you're little you always over exaggerate but thats a little too much.
  4. good style for police officers? smith & wesson
  5. talking person-to-person does wonders. it helps -me- pay attention but im not exactly young
  6. first time = 0% (i didn't read the rules) second time = 100%
  7. if that would have happened at my gym, one of the instructors would have put her in her place. my instructors are good at crushing ego's
  8. im a big Titan fan but they didn't make it. i'll go with the Raiders.

  10. i found out the problem. its my computer chair. i wouldn't have caught on but i was out of town for a day and it almost went away.
  11. if i could hope that a big guy couldn't do something what would it be? i'd hope he couldn't hit me. maybe boxing would be good for you.
  12. i'd suggest joining a gym thats aimed for the UFC. EXAMPLE: The Lions Den. its not a thing where you can just sign a piece of paper and wait to be on pay per view. a good gym could help you get your foot in the door though. you basicly get selected to be selected if that makes sense. its relatively hard to get in, thats why im training my ass off.
  13. i happen to like what your doing. i think its good when someone branches out. and it seems you've put alot of thought into this. good luck.
  14. its all about what you want to do. if you dont want to stay there then leave. if you want to stay then stay.

  17. Im not sure i spelled that right. I woke up one morning with a sore back. I didn't think much about it till i looked in the mirror. It looked as if i've been beaten with a whip. Its gotten better so im still not real worried about. Any ideas of what i might have done? I haven't fought lately so that couldn't be it.
  18. Congrats. I'll hopefully have my home gym up in about a year.
  19. drink plenty of water. its easy to dehydrate when working out.
  20. a common mistake is to just increase what you eat for every meal. try eating 6 or more meals a day.
  21. look for a school that spars. i've seen many schools that claim to NOT be teaching cardio kickboxing but all they do is bag work. bag work is awesome but without sparring it serves no purpose.
  22. going by the reasons you've stated, i'd say mauy thai might be the best for the situation. that and if you could find a no holds barred type of training. mark out aikido, its great but takes too long for what you want.
  23. in my opinion, creatine is safe as long as you follow the directions and cycle off. some common side effects are acne and kidney infection.
  24. i probably would have gotten stabbed in that situation it would have been an immediate fight for me.
  25. im not positive but i think im related to William Wallace.
